Newtok anti-surge valve helps the first China produced LNG marine cryogenic centrifugal compressor to be successfully delivered

Recently, China's “Gasified Yangtze River” landmark project independently developed, designed and manufactured by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. – the world's first river-sea direct 14,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering transport ship “Huaihe” “Energy Qihang” was officially named and delivered, 2 months ahead of schedule. This marks that my country's first LNG marine cryogenic centrifugal compressor anti-surge valve successfully developed by Newtok for this project has been successfully delivered for use.

Nutok has always been committed to the localization of high-end control valves, and undertook the development, design, on-site installation and commissioning of anti-surge valves (2 sets) for LNG centrifugal compressors with Shengu Group. In order to seize the construction deadline while ensuring quality and quantity, the Newtok anti-surge valve project team followed up the whole process and cooperated with Shengu Group, classification societies, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and other units to conduct 2 inspections of the installation site. Detailed and rigorous debugging and testing were carried out on the anti-surge equipment of the set, which helped the compressor unit successfully pass the two tests of “nitrogen heating and warm warehouse trial operation” and “natural gas medium replacement”. All performance indicators were good and highly praised by the owner.

The LNG marine compressor anti-surge valve is a high-end control valve product jointly developed by Nutok and Shengu Group, independently developed and mastered the core technology, and has completely independent intellectual property rights. The successful development of this product marks that my country's maritime liquefied natural gas transportation has got rid of its dependence on imported LNG marine centrifugal compressor anti-surge valves in one fell swoop, filling the domestic gap and breaking the long-term monopoly of foreign brands, which is a milestone.
