Home / Grammy Awards 2020: Time, Date, Nominees And More

Now that the awards season is in full swing, it’s time to turn the spotlight on the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, which will take place Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For the second time, musician Alicia Keys is back on the Grammy stage as host of the awards ceremony, presented by the Recording Academy, to honor the outstanding achievements in the music industry.

This year, singer-rapper Lizzo leads the pack of contenders with eight nominations, while 18-year-old neo-goth songstress Billie Eilish and country-rap artist Lil Nas X follow closely behind with six nominations each.

Since the Grammys’ inception in 1959, this is the first year ever that two new artists — Lizzo and Eilish — have both garnered nominations in the top four Grammy categories: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.

But the musical beat does not stop there — real-life couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are also set to perform together live for the first time in Grammy’s history.

Now that we have piqued your interest, here’s everything you need to know about music’s biggest night of the year.
