Aleister Black Injured, Name Banks/Bayley’s Move, New Day Pancake

Aleister Black is no longer the NXT Champion, but it seemed like he would be getting a rematch for the NXT Championship at the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn show. Unfortunately, those plans could potentially be in jeopardy now as Black is reportedly dealing with an injury. According to the Wrestling Observer, Black received an injury during an NXT live event in Las Vegas over the weekend and even underwent surgery not long after that. Details on the exact nature of Black’s injury are scare at the moment, but the site did note that the injury that he got does not look to be as severe as originally thought and the former NXT Champion is still scheduled to wrestle during NXT Takeover: Brooklyn later on this month.
With SummerSlam coming up, one has to think that there is still a chance that Sasha Banks and Bayley could end up at odds before facing each other at the pay-per-view later this month, but for right now, the two of them are the best of friends once more. The two former Raw Women’s Champions have made up and are even now functioning as a tag team on Raw now. Banks and Bayley already have matching gear and have coined their team “The Boss & Hug Connection,” but Sasha is now soliciting help from fans for a name for the duo’s finisher. As seen on Raw earlier this week, the two appear to be finishing off their matches with Sasha using a Backstabber before Bayley comes launching in with her Bayley-to-Belly suplex move.

The New Day have always had success over the years when it comes to marketing food. Whether it has been ice cream or their very own Booty O’s cereal, the three of them have made plenty of successful and profitable products. Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods have been coming down to the ring with pancakes for a number of months now, and according to Big E, the trio are looking at ways to sell those too soon. While speaking with the Tampa Bay Times, the former tag team champion was asked about whether or not fans will be able to purchase New Day pancakes, to which Big E confirmed that WWE officials and the group are having talks with the goal of one day selling their very own pancakes. “We’re talking to people in licensing for a way for this pancake nonsense to be available to our fans.” Big E said.
