Minnesota State to host Newberry

Mankato, Minn. — The Minnesota State wrestling team is set to host its first home dual of the season at Taylor Center against #4 Newberry Wednesday. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

MSU is 2-0 overall and in NSIC action to start the season, while the Newberry Wolves own a 7-0 overall record on the season. Newberry has five probable starters ranked for the upcoming dual and will boast a tough line up full of seniors.

Minnesota State has young leaders in Darick Vancura (Fr., 174 lbs.) and Alphonso Vruno (So., 141 lbs.) to help them overcome a big opponent.

Brendan Eichmann (Sr., 197 lbs.) will see his first dual action of the year. Eichmann and Corby Running (Sr., 285 lbs.) are the only two upperclassmen to start for MSU.
