Brian “Road Dogg” James wrote about getting out of the hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack: “To God be the glory, I live to tell the story! I’m headed home. I’ve got some work to do and some changes to make but I’m up to the task. I want to thank EACH and EVERY one of you for your thoughts and prayers and your kind words. So many reached out with positive vibes and it overwhelmed me with love. Thank you all and God is good! Let the journey begin! #OUDK # GBU #LIVEARMSTRONG”
For tomorrow’s NXT, WWE has announced that Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter will take on Tian Sha. If Mei Ying (Karen Q) wrestles in the match, it will be the character’s in-ring debut.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque spoke to Variety about how he thinks WWE’s move to Peacock can help NXT: “The ability for us to be on [Peacock], a bigger platform where so many more people have the opportunity to experience it and and to let it grow into something more, is very exciting. And once you sample it, we believe that the product is something that people will stick with and become involved in.” NXT episodes will be uploaded to Peacock the day after they premiere on the USA Network.
WWE released the trailer for their WWE Untold episode on Edge vs. Mick Foley from WrestleMania 22. In the episode, “The Rated-R Superstar and The Hardcore Legend look back at their barbaric Hardcore Match from 15 years ago, which was not only one of the most dangerous matches to ever take place on The Grandest Stage of Them All, but also a defining moment for both Superstars’ careers.” It premieres on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network everywhere else this coming Sunday.
On Raw Talk last night, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka said she underwent dental surgery three days ago. Asuka and her WrestleMania 37 challenger Rhea Ripley took part in a contract signing for their title match on Raw last night. Next week’s WrestleMania 37 go-home edition of Raw will feature Asuka & Ripley teaming against Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler.
Fightful reported that Titus O’Neil will receive the Warrior Award at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, Steve Austin named Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley as two of the brightest up-and-coming stars in WWE: “I haven’t been tuning in a whole lot because I have a whole lot going on in my personal life, but just from watching the Royal Rumble, I think those last two women — Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair — I think those two are destined for greatness. They still need reps, they still need to learn, but those two have the size, presence, looks, ability to be major, major stars, so we’ll see what the future holds for them.”
Austin told Wrestling Inc that he won’t be part of WrestleMania 37: “They didn’t reach out to me this year. I think they got their hands full with what they’re doing. I think it only makes sense for me to come back maybe in Texas or LA. It’d be great to go back to Dallas. So we’ll see what happens there, but I’m fine sitting at the house watching this one. We’ve been trying to move out of LA and move permanently over here to Nevada. So we’ve had a ton of stuff going on. I’ll be watching. I’m okay not being there.”
Sports Illustrated and the New York Post have interviews with Ripley.

While appearing on Talk is Jericho last week, Dean Malenko praised Rey Fenix: “He really understands the art of selling and letting things digest with the audience. When he first came here, he was all over the place. Slowly but surely, he’s starting to grasp it. When you’re writing something, every sentence has a period or a comma so you can stop, digest what happened [and] then go on to the next thing. Before he was just like one long book with no periods and all the words just got jammed together. So he’s really improved on that. You can really see the difference. He’s probably one of the top guys we have right now in the company. Every week I watch him, I just get amazed more than the previous week I see him. He has, like Rey, the rare gift of his body motions and his body language getting sympathy from the audience.”
Yahoo Sports has an “In Her Own Words” piece from Deonna Purrazo on her overcoming adversity in pro wrestling.
Ray Flores is joining the MLW broadcast team for tomorrow’s Never Say Never event.
