Despite his limited schedule with the company, Brock Lesnar is perhaps one of the biggest stars currently under contract to WWE at the moment. Lesnar has been the Universal Champion ever since he won the title at WrestleMania last year and he will go into WrestleMania this year as the champion as well. With Lesnar’s WWE contract expiring very soon, some have dpci keyed that he could be leaving after WrestleMania in April in order to begin another run at an MMA career in UFC. A new report from the Wrestling Obsever states that WWE is currently working on getting Lesnar to re-sign with them, but Triple H may now be the one working on convincing Lesnar to stay.
The Mixed Match Challenge continues to be a fun and enjoyable show every Tuesday night after Smackdown concludes for the night. Last night’s show saw the team known as the “Robe Warriors,” consisting of Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair, defeat the team of Nia Jax and Apollo. Now that the first round of the tournament has concluded, WWE has announced the quarterfinal matches for the show. Next week’s show will see Finn Balor and Sasha Banks return to face The Miz and Asuka. Later episodes will feature matches between Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair vs. Rusev and Lana, as well as Jimmy Uso and Naomi vs. Brian Strowman and Alexa Bliss. Catch the show every Tuesday night at 10pm ET on Facebook Watch.
One of the most popular and dynamic tag teams outside of WWE these days continues to be the Young Bucks. Although Matt and Nick Jackson may be one of the most polarizing teams in the business, one cannot deny the tremendous amount of success that they have both had despite never being officially under contract with WWE. However, it looks like the Bucks are hopeful that they will be able to face the current Smackdown Tag Team Champions at some point. Following a recent conference call in which the Usos praised the Young Bucks, Matt Jackson sent out a tweet stating that he also has respect for the brother and he even teased a possible match between each other in the future.
The feeling is mutual. Would love to wrestle @WWEUsos. https://t.co/oli2wep35w
