Fastlane had been set to feature a Triple Threat Match for the main event as AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. However, that match was altered a bit during Smackdown from last night. After being attacked before a singles match before a singles match against each other, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin were respectively put in matches against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Since both Ziggler and Corbin were able to win their matches, they have been added to the Triple Threat Match, thus making the Fastlane main event a Fatal 5-Way match now. Styles now defends his title against four other men at Fastlane on March 11th.

Raw Superstar Curt Hawkins may currently be dealing with a losing streak of over 150 matches, but at least he has gotten a win in the past. Though her wrestling career is still very brief at the moment, Smackdown star Lana has not been able to win a match ever since she stepped into the ring. That all changed tonight during the most recent edition of the Mixed Match Challenge when she pinned Bayley to earn herself and her husband Rusev a spot in the second round of the tournament. Indeed, this is Lana’s first win in her career and she celebrated with her husband as Bayley and Elias were eliminated from the tournament. The announcers even declared that last night officially marked ‘Lana Day.’

Impact Wrestling has lost a ton of stars lately such as EC3 and Bobby Lashley, and the women’s division just took a major hit due to the departure of Laurel Van Ness. Recent addition Su Yung has been a real boost for the division thus far, and Impact may have their sights set on another top female performer right now. During an appearance on Konnan’s Keepin’ it 100 podcast, backstage Impact producer Gail Kim mentioned that Japanese sensation Io Shirai is currently on Impact’s radar. Shirai has been praised for her work in the Stardom promotion in Japan. She had previously been in talks to sign with WWE, but the company reportedly did not sign her due to an injury discovered in her medical tests.
