Biden will campaign over Memorial Day weekend for Phil Murphy, a Democratic candidate for New Jersey governor, NJ Advance Media reported.

He is scheduled to make an appearance at two events — a private fundraiser and a public rally — in Bergen County on May 28.

Murphy, who is running to succeed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), served as the finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2006 to 2009.

Murphy is one of six Democratic candidates running for his party’s nomination and has a lead over his primary competitors, according to a poll released earlier this month.

Biden previously said he “regretted” not running for president in 2016. He stoked speculation about a 2020 run with a busy travel schedule, but later said, “Guys, I’m not running.”
