Fox has picked up a pro wrestling-themed drama titled The Work, according to Deadline.com.
The show was written by novelist Scott O’Connor (“Untouchable” and “Half World) and produced by Parkes+MacDonald. Over the summer, O’Connor wrote an article for the New York Times about the realism that Brock Lesnar has brought to WWE during his latest run with the company.
The Work was shopped to cable networks before Fox bought the rights to it. No word on when it will wind up on network TV.
