Rey Mysterio was this week’s guest on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast where he discussed returning to WWE and his son’s training.

On his son’s training and what he has left to achieve:

“Training is going incredible. He started last year up in Florida and trained a little with Jay Lethal and this year he took a bigger step and went up to Canada and did a three-month training session with Lance Storm, then he’s coming home and we move onto phase three. I’ve talked to Booker already to send him up to Houston or Mexico City to pick up some lucha libre style. My dream as a father, my final dream come true as a wrestler is to be able to perform in there with my son so I can say that now I have done it all and it’s going to happen.

On the toughest part of his life:

“If I had to point out a tough era I would have to say as a kid, living in San Diego and then having to move to Mexico at the age of 11, my toughest years as a kid was having to learn the sport of wrestling at such a young age and literally being the only kid in the class.”

On how it feels to be back in WWE:

“It has been incredible. From the time that I left up until now, there is definitely a lot of new faces but that’s the evolution of this sport, you can’t have everyone around forever. Right around the time that I left a lot of guys were leaving the company due to injuries or to do something new. But it feels good to be back, under different terms. I would not be able to go back and do the full schedule that I used to do, my body is definitely beat down and I am the type of person that when the bell rings I am ready to give 200%, as much as people tell me to pull back I can’t cheat my fans.”
