Keith Lee was given a new nickname prior to tonight’s Raw.
As he made his way to the ring, he was announced as Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee. It isn’t known who he faced.
The nickname ‘Bearcat’ may be homage to Bearcat Wright, a pro wrestler from the 1950s and 60s who is a former WWA World Heavyweight Champion. He was posthumously inducted into the Legacy wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.
Lee has been working dark matches prior to the start of Raw and SmackDown since early August. He returned to WWE after being gone for several months in July, losing to Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross before defeating Kross on August 2, which is his most recent televised WWE appearance.
Last Friday prior to SmackDown, Lee defeated Shane Thorne, the former Slapjack of Retribution in a dark match. Over the weekend, he worked house shows in North Charleston, South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia, where he defeated Akira Tozawa on both nights.
