I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in America”

The winner of the AEW Women’s World title eliminator tournament earlier this year, Mizunami challenged then-champion Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the Revolution pay-per-view on March 7.

Mizunami’s American excursion continued throughout March and April. She appeared in a trios match on Dynamite where she teamed with Shida and Thunder Rosa to defeat Britt Baker, Maki Itoh and Nyla Rose.

She also picked up singles wins over Leyla Hirsch, KiLynn King and Tesha Price, plus added three more tag victories to her AEW total on Dark and Dark: Elevation. Mizunami last appeared for AEW on the May 3 edition of Dark: Elevation in a losing effort against Abadon.

Mizunami is the current SEAdLNNNG Beyond The Sea Champion, winning the title from ASUKA in July. She has since made two successful defenses of the title.
