Patrick J. Adams may have played Meghan Markle’s husband on the TV show Suits, but in real life, he and Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario are the dream team. And as of this week, that dream team is growing.

Bellisario is pregnant with the couple’s first child together, E! News confirmed, which means she and Adams will be first-time parents soon.

Adams had talked before about how he and Bellisario have planned to start a family, so the news isn’t a total curve ball.

“We talk about it all the time, obviously, and when the time is right, the time will be right,” Adams told Entertainment Tonight in July. “You know, we’re not going anywhere. Very much in love and excited for everything that comes next.”

The last time fans caught sight of the couple was at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding, where Adams and other Suits co-stars came out to support Markle. Bellisario sweetly documented it all on her Instagram Story, giving the world a sneak peak into their day.

Since then, the two have stayed relatively quiet on social media, but with a new baby on the way, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an uptick in photos in the near future.

Congrats to the couple on their baby news!

“It wasn’t their words, it’s that I started to believe them,” she began. “Their words seemed to confirm what growing up as a woman and a person of color already taught me: that I belonged in margins and spaces, valid only as a minor character in their lives and stories.” In the piece, Tran explains how she tried to hide her Vietnamese heritage as early as age 9, choosing to stop speaking the language.

“Their words reinforced a narrative I had heard my whole life: that I was ‘other,’ that I didn’t belong, that I wasn’t good enough, simply because I wasn’t like them. And that feeling, I realize now, was, and is, shame, a shame for the things that made me different, a shame for the culture from which I came from. And to me, the most disappointing thing was that I felt it at all,” Tran writes.

“And as much as I hate to admit it, I started blaming myself. I thought, ‘Oh, maybe if I was thinner’ or ‘Maybe if I grow out my hair’ and, worst of all, ‘Maybe if I wasn’t Asian.’ For months, I went down a spiral of self-hate, into the darkest recesses of my mind, places where I tore myself apart, where I put their words above my own self-worth,” she added. “And it was then that I realized I had been lied to.”

In the piece, Tran moves on to explain how the media, Hollywood, and American culture has forced her to continuously question whether her Asian identity is less valid than that of a white person, though now, she’s chosen to come out stronger. Moving forward, Tran writes about planning to use her platform to champion the voices of people and women of color.

“I want to live in a world where children of color don’t spend their entire adolescence wishing to be white. I want to live in a world where women are not subjected to scrutiny for their appearance, or their actions, or their general existence. I want to live in a world where people of all races, religions, socioeconomic classes, sexual orientations, gender identities and abilities are seen as what they have always been: human beings,” she writes, ending with, “My real name is Loan. And I am just getting started.”

Even the most supportive dad can experience some discomfort when his daughter strikes a pose for the camera.

After his daughter Ireland Baldwin posted a sexy snap of herself on Saturday, it didn’t take long before Alec Baldwin hopped into the comments section to share his take on the picture.

In the image, the 22-year-old model — who posed nude for PETA earlier this year — leans forward on top of a motorcycle while wearing a black bra with a matching pair of bottoms.

“No. Just… No,” the 60-year-old actor bluntly wrote in response to the shot.

Commenting on the over-the-top nature of the photo herself, Ireland captioned the image, “Stay extra.”

Although the pair might not see eye to eye about all of her photos, Ireland has spoken at length before about how proud she is of her body.

“This is who I am, take it or leave,” she wrote last year alongside an image of herself in her underwear. “I am not going to be body shamed for being pale or not stick thin. I’m not going to spend hours photoshopping my authenticity away. I’m not going to beat myself up for not looking like someone else. I’m not going to be told that I’m damaged goods because of my tattoos.”

“Your body should be treated with the dignity and respect it deserves,” she added. “I’m forever on a journey of finding my better self and continue to work as hard as I can to make myself proud.”

While over the years Alec and Ireland have gotten to a place where they’re able to joke about his infamous 2007 voicemail rant — where he called Ireland a “rude, thoughtless, little pig” when she was 11 years old — the actor has said that the headline-making incident caused a “permanent” break in their relationship.

“It’s a scab that never heals cause it’s being picked at all the time by other people. My daughter, that’s hurt her in a permanent way,” he told Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos in 2017.

The voicemail came amid a bitter custody feud between Alec and Ireland’s mother Kim Basinger. He later admitted that the incident left him feeling suicidal.

The Emmy winner has since remarried and now has four children with wife Hilaria Baldwin.

It’s been a busy week, huh? In one corner, Twitter is ablaze about an alleged tape of President Donald Trump using the N— word. In the other, Kylie Jenner is flaunting her wealth (nearly $1 billion!), discussing the teeny-tiny Hermès Birkin she plans to gift her baby girl. So we wouldn’t blame you if you happened to miss something else that defines the times we’re living in: Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle’s pet names.

Who ever would have imagined that the romance of a First Son and a former Fox News correspondent could enthrall us? But this is 2018. Page Six reports that “spies” overheard the new couple exchanging lovey nicknames while partying in the Hamptons.

So what do they call each other? Guilfoyle reportedly uses “Junior Mint” to refer to her man, a term that the outlet speculates could allude to the large, overflowing bank account he and his father love to boast about. Weird. Even better, Mr. Jr. calls her a name that’s a serious throwback to Warner Huntington III’s nickname for Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: Pooh Bear.

In honor of this revelation, we’ve turned to the pair’s respective Instagram accounts to bring you a delightful mix of things you never knew you wanted to know about their romance.

They Enjoy Museums

Like Beyoncé and Jay-Z (but also not at all like Beyoncé and Jay-Z), these two like to hit up globally renowned institutions of art and culture like Paris’s Louvre Museum. Do you think she paused, turned to him, and whispered, “I can’t believe we made it.” If so, we’d imagine he’d say, “This is what we came for.”

A Princess Just Gave Up Royalty to Marry a Commoner

September 4, 2019 | News | No Comments

If you’ve ever gazed longingly at the British royals and wondered what life must be like as a prince or princess, know that it might not be all it’s cracked up to be — because some are pretty willing to give it up. Japan’s Princess Ayako, the youngest daughter of Emperor Akihito’s cousin, demonstrated this firsthand when she walked away from her regal title entirely on Monday. What prompted her exit? Marriage, of all things.

The princess chose to marry a man she loves, Kei Moriya, despite the fact that he is a commoner — which means, according to Japanese imperial law, Ayako is required to forfeit her title and status. Fairly extreme, if you ask us.

It’s a rule that many are calling unfair, particularly since it bewilderingly does not apply to men in the family who wish to marry female commoners.

Once Ayako and Moriya make it official, she will be forced to renounce her princess status, and according to CNN, take a lump sum of $950,000 from the Japanese government to cover her living expenses.

“I am awed by how blessed I am,” Ayako said, according to the outlet. “I will leave the imperial family today, but I will remain unchanged in my support for his majesty and her majesty.”

Not going to lie, a million dollars and a literal fairytale wedding sounds like a nice trade off for something as fickle as status. Even if it is a questionable rule.

Serena Williams is encouraging women to touch themselves for a good cause.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old tennis pro showed fans another side of herself, posing topless in a music video for a cover she recorded of the Divinyls 1990 hit “I Touch Myself.”

The video promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and the I Touch Myself Project, which encourages women to regularly examine their breasts. The organization was formed after Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett died from breast cancer at 53 in 2013.

“This Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve recorded a version of The Divinyls global hit ‘I Touch Myself’ to remind women to self-check regularly,” Williams wrote in the video’s caption on Instagram.

Singing in front of the world while nude wasn’t easy for Williams. “Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world,” she wrote on Instagram. “Early detection is key — it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that.”

Women’s lingerie brand Berlei also supported the project. They’ve even released a rock-star inspired bra called The Chrissy named after Amphlett, with the words of “I Touch Myself” printed inside, and 100 percent of its profits will support Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Williams has had a busy year, juggling her career and raising her 1-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia with husband Alexis Ohanian, 35.

“It’s been so hard balancing being a mom and starting my clothing line, as well as playing a professional sport!” Williams told People earlier this month. “However, it is the challenge that makes it fun!”

“I have spent every day with Olympia since she was born, and one of the latest challenges has been her teething,” added the mother of one. “I’m sure a lot of parents can relate. A milestone has been her walking — I get a good workout chasing her around the house!”

Williams’ secret to doing it all? Little sleep and working on the road, she told People in August after launching her own eponymous clothing line in May. She said the collection is “inspired by femininity and strength.”

Also in August, the tennis champ sat down with Today‘s Stephanie Ruhle and revealed that she’s taken comfort in the feedback she’s received from other moms on social media after missing her daughter’s first steps while she was away training for Wimbledon.

“When I missed Olympia’s walking, I posted about it and so many parents wrote in and said, ‘Don’t worry about it, I missed it too,’ ” Williams said in an interview that aired on the NBC morning show.

“I didn’t realize that it’s almost more normal to miss it than it is to make it,” she explained. “So I really kind of rely on everyone’s help out there. It’s been so, so amazing.”

Charlize Theron is known for portraying complex and strong women in her movies. In real-life, she draws courage from a special person — her mom.

The actress, 43, opened up about her mother Gerda and how she’s found strength over the years at Elle‘s 2018 Women in Hollywood event Monday night.

“I think we all have to find our own footing. None of us are born knowing how to navigate life and difficult decisions — especially for young girls,” Theron told Extra at the event. “No matter who you are or where you come from, the struggle is maybe a little bit different, but all interconnects. I am lucky enough that I had a great mom who really kind of made me brave and always told me to be brave. I don’t know who I might have been without that.”

When Theron was 15, her father, Charles, attacked her mother and shot him to death in self-defense (no charges were filed). Theron has previously revealed some of the details of her family’s harrowing experience dealing with her father’s addiction, including what it was like when her mother shot and killed her father.

The actress went into detail on the Howard Stern Show in 2017 about how she didn’t really know how to react at the time. “I just pretended like it didn’t happen,” she said. “I didn’t tell anybody — I didn’t want to tell anybody. Whenever anybody asked me, I said my dad died in a car accident. Who wants to tell that story? Nobody wants to tell that story.”

She admitted to host Howard Stern that ultimately, it wasn’t the incident of her father’s death that traumatized her. Instead, Theron said she struggled with the everyday nightmare of growing up with such an unpredictable figure in the house.

“I think what more affected me for my adult life that happened in my childhood was more the every day living of a child living in the house with an alcoholic and waking up not knowing what was going to happen. And not knowing how my day was going to go and all of it dependent on somebody else and whether he was not going to drink or drink.”

She added that her mother was similarly thick-skinned about the incident, praising her selfless resilience.

“I have an incredible mother… She’s a huge inspiration in my life,” said Theron. “She’s never really had therapy. So a mother who never really had therapy dealing with something like that — trying to get your child out of that. Her philosophy was ‘This is horrible. Acknowledge that this is horrible. Now make a choice. Will this define you? Are you going to sink or are you going to swim?’ That was it.”

Cher Really Doesn’t Want to Duet with Madonna

September 3, 2019 | News | No Comments

Don’t hold your breath for a Cher–Madonna collaboration.

During her recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cher, 72, threw serious shade at the Material Girl, going out of her way to declare that did not want to do a duet with her fellow pop queen.

As Cher and DeGeneres played a game called “5 Second Rule,” Stephen “tWitch” Boss asked Cher, “Name three celebrities you’d want to do a duet with.”

Cher replied, “Oh, Adele, Pink, and, uh, um, not Madonna.”

After the crowd roared with surprise, DeGeneres shot back, “Alright, Miss Negative. He said, ‘You’d want to.’ It’s not who you wouldn’t want to.”

Cher answered, “I took a little license.” Cher and Madonna, 60, have a rocky history. In 2012, Cher tweeted, “Wtf is mdna,” likely referring to Madonna’s 2012 album MDNA.

When a fan asked “Do you still hate madonna?” during a 2013 Reddit AMA, Cher replied, “I never hated her, I just thought she was a b—. Actually I quite respect her.”

The Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star continued, “Actually I think Madge might be one of the most amazing artists I’ve known. I don’t like everything she does, for sure, but she is always riding the crest of the wave. She always saw trends WAY before anyone else, and had great videos.”

She concluded, “So, besides saying ‘WTF if MDNA,’ I’m fine with it.”

That same year, Cher complimented Lady Gaga to USA Today by praising Madonna. “Gaga’s got ‘it,’ the way Madonna had ‘it,’ something that made you stop and go, ‘What’s that?’” she said. “It’s not just crazy clothes. Madonna had her ear to the ground and knew what was coming before anybody else.”

In January 2017, the music legends met up at the Women’s March.
