Bon Jovi, Rage Against the Machine, and Nina Simone may be unlikely playlist pairings, but they could end up together in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018.

The nomination field this year spans 19 names, according to Rolling Stone, including nine first-time contenders, like Radiohead, Kate Bush, and Judas Priest.

Artists become eligible for the coveted Rock Hall of Fame induction 25 years after their first single or album was released. The Rock Hall considers nominees from four different categories: performers, early influencers, musical trailblazers and influential non-performers.

The 19 nominees for the Class of 2018 will be whittled down to just five names by December. Ballots will be cast by hundreds of historians and music industry insiders, as well as every living Rock Hall inductee. Fans’ input is taken into account through a public poll.

Last year’s inductees were ELO, Joan Baez, Journey, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Yes, and Nile Rodgers.

Geils Band, Judas Priest, LL Cool J, The MC5, The Meters, Moody Blues, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Nina Simone, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Link Wray, The Zombies.

Naturally, viewers were already making plans to binge watch the popular show on Friday night. But, since the entire season dropped at midnight, some people stayed up late and got a head start.“Ahh, #StrangerThings 2 deserves all the love,” a Twitter user wrote, sharing a photo of the starring crew. “As beautiful and exciting as its first part thanks to these boys.”

Another social media user shared a photo of the cast hugging and tweeted, “I still haven’t slept, damn you Netflic auto play. I can’t stop. #StrangerThings2.”

Others are just hoping the show doesn’t get spoiled for them until they can get to it.

“Spending the next few days trying to avoid Stranger Things spoilers,” one person tweeted.

Another Twitter user wrote: “I was gonna continue reading my book but I just remembered the new season Stranger Things is out. Might binge watch that instead.”

The new season takes place about a year after the event’s of its premiere season, and pays homage to ’80s classics like Aliens, Poltergeist, Ghostbusters, E.T., The Goonies, and more.

With the new season finally out, the excited tweets are sure to keep coming for quite some time.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are in love, in the city of love! The Game of Thrones star and the DNCE frontman announced their engagement on Sunday and stepped out on the streets of Paris for the first time since their big news.

The couple walked arm-in-arm, which gave photographers the opportunity to catch another glimpse of her new engagement ring, and it’s a stunner. The uniquely shaped diamond ring is set in a double band covered in pave diamonds.

Turner looked chic in a blue and green plaid miniskirt and utilitarian black coat, pairing her look with over-the-knee boots, red sunglasses, and a black beret that reads “Anarchy.” How very Parisian of her.

Her fiancé was handsome as always in a brown jacket, black tee, and checkered black and white pants. He sported a pair of round sunglasses and a mustache for the outing with his bride-to-be.

Since their engagement news broke, the couple has been flooded with well wishes, including messages from Joe’s brother Nick and Sophie’s BFF and Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams.

“Congratulations to my beautiful girlfriend on her engagement,” Williams wrote. “This is just one of MANY life milestones we’ll share. Love you both.”

Congrats, lovebirds!

Don’t get it twisted: Chrissy Teigen can cook.

The proud mom and cookbook author took to Twitter on Tuesday to bark back at a hater that attacked her skills in the kitchen.

Teigen made a joke about refusing to use 280 characters now that Twitter is changing its limit. “I will NEVER use 280 characters nor will I favorite or retweet a tweet with them. THIS IS MY FIGHT SONG,” she wrote.

People laughed, but one person called her out on something completely unrelated.

“That’s cause you can’t cook for s—. But im still a fan, cause you made me laugh,” one guy wrote.

Another fan called him out and questioned his skills, to which the dude wrote, “My best dates are in the grocery store,” suggesting he allows women he’s courting to pop into your local shop, choose the ingredients, and wait for a home-cooked meal.

That obviously didn’t sit well with Teigen. So like the true witty tweeter that she is, she replied to him.

“I have a #1 New York Times best selling cookbook and cook 3 course meals around 14 times a week. But yeah, you go to the grocery store sometimes,” she said, referring to her 2016 debut, Cravings.

Some users then pointed out that Teigen accidentally fell back on her promise of NOT retweeting tweets with 280 characters because the tweet to which she replied did in fact contain 280.

Regardless, that’s one badass response.

KFC Is Launching a Fried Chicken-Scented Bath Bomb

Because apparently nail polish didn’t fill the void of fried poultry-themed beauty products, KFC just launched a chicken-scented bath bomb. Now that’s one product you definitely can’t find on the LUSH menu.

Shaped like a drumstick, of course, we can’t tell you if it’s truly finger lickin’ good, but it’s probably the most inventive bath bomb scent we’ve uncovered yet. You can see what it’ll look like in the tweet from the brand below.

But before you go scoop yourself a bowl of mashed potatoes and head for the tub, we have some bad news. The bath bomb is part of a contest that KFC Japan is hosting with Village Vanguard, according to the Independent, you have to be in Japan in order to participate.

You’re entered to win by retweeting KFC Japan’s post by November 15, and the site also reports that there are only 100 drumsticks to go around.

So the winners have a very difficult decision to make—keep the chicken leg bath bomb as memorabilia, or go to bed smelling like your go-to late night dinner—or hungover breakfast, if we’re being honest.

Will it be so good? You’ll have to stay tuned. But now one think is for sure, no one does chicken like KFC.

On Monday evening, Cate Blanchett arrived at the third annual InStyle Awards and accepted the well-deserved Style Icon Award.

Of course, it takes more than just looking the part to be a true style icon—which Blanchett, 48, absolutely did in a plunging red and navy striped Givenchy gown.

The Oscar winner, who addressed sexual assault in her eloquent acceptance speech, spoke to InStyle during the evening’s festivities and shared her take on an oft touched upon subject in the film industry: aging.

While discussing the topic, the actress opened up about her philosophy on “anti-aging”: “I think to eradicate that concept from the way we talk about beauty—particularly for women. It’s kind of an oxymoron when we talk about what life is all about,” she told us. “It’s about doing the best with what you got in the time you have.”

As for her style icon status, the Australian actress maintains that she dresses for one person only: herself. “I don’t really dress to please other people,” she told InStyle. “You sort of wear what you like. You run the gauntlet a bit on the red carpet. People feel that what they wear people has to liked, but that’s not a real concern of mine. I love it.”

Cate, are you accepting applications for the Blanchett School of Life? We’re eager to enroll.

Watch her share her take on personal style and the concept of “anti-aging” in the video at top.

“Tonight, we pay tribute to Whitney and the enduring music from The Bodyguard with a performance by another artist with a mesmerizing voice with a medley from that film.”

Aguilera took the stage in a plunging black silk gown and Stephen Webster jewels with her blonde strands slicked back and a pared-down makeup look. She ditched her signature red lip and instead opted for a pink gloss.

She began with just her voice in the microphone as she took on Houston’s hit, “I Will Always Love You.” Instrumentals eventually joined in, but Aguilera’s voice truly shined in the gorgeous tribute. The medley included Houston’s hits like “I Have Nothing,” “Run to You,” and “I’m Every Woman,” and Aguilera’s incredible pipes did justice to them all through the renditions.

“This is a Whitney celebration,” she told the emotional audience, encouraging them to get on their feet. “We love you Whitney, the greatest, my idol.”

“Thank you Whitney Houston for being the best inspiration ever,” Aguilera said, concluding her tribute to the late singer.

It’s been little more than three months since The New York Times broke the story on Harvey Weinstein’s decades-long abuse of power, igniting the #MeToo movement that has been rocking American culture ever since. Sunday night, at the 75th annual Golden Globes, the #resistance finally got its red carpet debut—and it showed up in head-to-toe black.

Of course, we knew this was coming. Black has been the unofficial dress code for the ceremony since early this month, when a coalition of A-listers announced the newly formed Time’s Up platform, aimed at eradicating inequality in the industry and beyond. “For years, we’ve sold these awards shows as women, with our gowns and colors and our beautiful faces and our glamour,” Eva Longoria said last week. “This time the industry can’t expect us to go up and twirl around. That’s not what this moment is about.” 2018 was going to be different.

In the sense that wardrobes went more or less monochrome, that was true. But while the red carpet succeeded in looking like a (glitzy) funeral procession, there was at least one group of people who didn’t seem to have talking points about how to work in the evening’s theme: From Giuliana Rancic to Missi Pyle and beyond, the hosts were clad in the prescribed color, but what was largely missing from their repartee were questions about why black was the shade du jour. Apart from the attire, it generally felt like the same old Globes.

That possibility was part of the “wear black” problem from the very beginning. Would it be a hollow gesture or a strong solidarity cue? When you’re wearing a designer gown, rubbing elbows with the famous and elite at an exclusive entertainment-world event, changing the palette to black doesn’t seem like an especially significant sacrifice. There’s optics, and then there’s action—and the women still showed up in their gowns, with their beautiful faces and all their glamour. An awards ceremony is an awards ceremony, no matter what it’s wearing.

Which is not to say that there weren’t moments where stars managed to shake things up. Debra Messing calling out E! for the network’s discriminatory pay practices was an early red-carpet highlight; as Emma Stone’s date, Billie Jean King was a brilliant (though brief) orator on equality. Meryl Streep brought along MacArthur Genius and director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance Ai-jen Poo, while Angelina Jolie brought her longtime friend and collaborator Loung Ung, who wrote the book on which the director’s film, First They Killed My Father, is based.

Neither last nor least, Michelle Williams brought Tarana Burke, who created a “me too” campaign long before we knew the word “hashtag.” All these women used their moment with the microphone to talk advocacy and equality issues, whether they were outright asked about it or not. The truth is that these are people we expect it from, who have a history of using their platforms to shine a light on important causes.

Then there were the men who largely looked like they do every other year, with the addition of a few Time’s Up buttons, black shirts, and, in the case of Armie Hammer, a faux lapel flower seemingly fashioned from black taffeta. James Franco gushed about The Disaster Artist, Ewan McGregor hinted that he’s hoping to get behind the camera on his next project, and Hammer basically recited a love letter to his Call Me By Your Name castmates. But no one appeared to go especially out of his way to push the Time’s Up agenda. Maybe that’s because they were saving it for onstage speeches later in the night. But it was a strange night to stay silent, given the opportunity to be an ally.

Over the course of the two-hour carpet, the hosts seemed almost determined to avoid the Time’s Up topic, save for complimenting the decision to wear black and repeating “We stand in solidarity” on a short loop. To borrow a line from last year’s awards ceremony social campaign: We need to be asking them more, all around. But while the cynical among us might think the all-black dress code an empty gesture from pampered, out-of-touch Hollywood elite, the protest did have an effect. It was impossible to watch the red carpet and not know what was going on. This was particularly evident on Facebook, where the pre-show was streamed live for the first time ever next to a stream of viewer comments. The sea of black dresses were a signal to a world watching that something has changed this year.

Blake Shelton just nabbed another major honor, and it’s not a country music award. The singer and The Voice coach was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2017.

So, what did he think when he first heard the news? “That y’all must be running out of people,” he told People. “Like, Wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”

Surely his girlfriend of two years, Gwen Stefani, agrees with the title. “I think he’s hot. Do you?” Stefani said, confirming that she was attracted to Shelton before their relationship even went public back in 2015. She definitely does! In fact, she was the one who convinced him to embrace the crown. “She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment,” Shelton said.

However, the best part about the new title? Being able to rub it in his buddy Adam Levine’s face. “I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass,” Shelton added. “As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”

Levine took home the title back in 2013. “I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren’t, so that’s cool,” Levine said of taking home the honor back in 2013.

Congrats, Blake! Now you and Levine are both two of the world’s sexiest men alive.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With fall seasons winding down and games dwindling, there was limited movement in this week’s NFCA Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Top-ranked, two-time defending state champion East Coweta (32-0) remains No. 1 for a ninth straight week, and returns to action in the Georgia state Class 7A final four starting today at the South Commons Complex in Columbus, Ga.

No. 2 Papillion-LaVista (36-0) kept pace again this week by winning the Nebraska Class A championship for the second time in the last three years. The Monarchs completed their unbeaten season with a pair of victories over 11th–ranked Elkhorn — 8-0 in last Thursday’s semis, and 15-2 in Friday’s final — has now been in the state final five consecutive years.

Elkhorn (30-5) had moved up to Class A following its B state championship last season.

The only change in the rankings this week came toward the bottom, as fellow Nebraska schools Beatrice (32-6) and Skutt Catholic (29-4) swapped places at No. 23 and 24. Beatrice, who lost to Elkhorn in last year’s Class B state final, beat Wayne, 1-0, in this year’s semis, but lost both the rematch and the winner-take-all championship game with the Blue Devils, 6-1 and 5-3, respectively, to close out its season. Skutt Catholic, meanwhile, was eliminated from the state Class B tournament with a 4-2 loss to Seward.

In the only other action involving ranked teams, Missouri’s Raymore-Peculiar (23-5) won all three of its games to maintain its spot at No. 25.

After a snowstorm on Wednesday in Colorado, teams are hoping state tournament games scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Aurora Sports Park are not affected. Officials have already said games will be pushed back as needed until they can be played, and said delays of several hours could occur before utilizing the next available day.

State rankings submitted by NFCA member coaches are used to compile the NFCA Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll. Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule. Five states — Colorado, Georgia, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri — play a fall fastpitch schedule, while Iowa recently completed its summer season.
