Vendredi 22 septembre, Loana publiait une longue lettre sur Facebook où elle annonçait sa séparation d’avec Phil Storm, son compagnon depuis six mois. Peu de temps après elle faisait savoir que sa rupture lui avait été annoncée par sms. Des propos que n’accréditent pas du tout son ex-compagnon.

C’est un homme éploré, tout à fait conscient d’être au cœur d’un emballement médiatique, qui a décidé de prendre la parole. Phil Storm vient de livrer sa vérité à nos confrères de Télé-Loisirs.fr au sujet de sa récente rupture avec Loana. « Je suis un simple gars tombé dans une déferlante médiatique fausse », fait-il ainsi d’emblée savoir. Un entretien pour cesser d’être cloué au pilori et rappeler qu’il n’est guère évident d’entretenir une relation amoureuse avec une personnalité aussi connue et appréciée que Loana.

Cette dernière qui a confié il y a quelques jours en exclusivité pour gala.fr, avoir été quittée par son compagnon par sms. Une confidence murmurée la douleur chevillée au cœur, d’autant que l’ex-star de téléréalité a compris cette décision : « Moi j’ai l’habitude de composer avec le star système, pas lui », nous avait-elle expliqué.

Dès lors Phil Storm, conscient d’apparaître comme le vilain de l’histoire, avait déclaré ne pas être prêt à dire sa vérité « pour ne pas faire de mal. Alors c’est moi qui en prend plein la gueule ». Mais l’homme tient autant au fond qu’à la forme et ne supporte pas l’idée d’être estampillé du sceau du lâche. Ainsi déclare-t-il à Télé-Loisirs.fr : « Ce SMS n’existe pas. Oui, il y a un texto qui dit que je veux du recul… Par rapport à des choses peu jolies. Mais ce SMS de rupture n’existe pas. Et j’ai répondu à tous ses SMS tous les jours ». Et d’ajouter : « Tout est déformé ». Un bref entretien conclu par un souhait : « redevenir le simple Phil que les gens aimaient pour (s)es vraies valeurs. Et pas tous ces mensonges, ces choses erronées… »

Protesters set fires in front of the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad on Tuesday.

An angry mob protesting American airstrikes in Iraq and Syria tried to storm the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday, smashing through the main entrance and setting fire to a reception area as Marines guarding the compound fired tear gas to hold them back.

The protesters reportedly were made up of supporters of a Shia group, the Kataib Hezbollah militia, that was targeted in the Sunday airstrikes, which killed about two dozen fighters. The U.S. strikes were carried out as a retaliation against the group for the killing of an American contractor in Iraq on Friday. Kataib Hezbollah called for retaliation after the strikes but has denied any involvement in the contractor’s death.

The sprawling, heavily fortified U.S. Embassy compound in the Iraqi capital covers 104 acres. It was not immediately clear whether the protesters had managed to breach anything but the outermost ring of security.

Earlier, protesters gathered carrying what they said were coffins of some of the fighters killed in the airstrikes. They marched near government buildings and then to the embassy, where they lit fires to show their anger, chanting, “America, leave, leave!”

On Tuesday morning, President Trump tweeted: “Iran killed an American contractor, wounding many. We strongly responded, and always will. Now Iran is orchestrating an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. They will be held fully responsible. In addition, we expect Iraq to use its forces to protect the Embassy, and so notified!”

After the U.S. launched the series of airstrikes inside Iraq and Syria over the weekend, the government in Baghdad condemned the action as an attack on its sovereignty and said it would summon the U.S. ambassador.

“We stress that Iraq is an independent country, and its internal security takes priority, and serious attention, and will not be allowed to become a battlefield, or a route for launching attacks,” Iraq’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement about what it planned to tell the U.S. ambassador.

It added that Iraq planned to discuss the future presence in the country of the U.S.-led coalition fighting ISIS.

KH and more than two dozen other Iranian-backed militias have a complicated position within Iraq. The paramilitary has fought against ISIS and is formally part of Iraq’s security forces — though U.S. officials have raised concerns about whether the Iraqi government actually has control over it and other Iranian-backed groups.

A U.S. State Department official said the airstrikes were “designed to protect American forces and American citizens in Iraq, but it is also aimed at deterring Iran.”

As NPR’s Tom Bowman reported, KH “has been for months now firing mortars and rockets at U.S. forces at locations throughout Iraq.” The U.S. government blames it for the recent attack on an Iraqi base near the city of Kirkuk in which a U.S. contractor was killed. The attack on the base used by U.S. and Iraqi forces, which involved more than 30 rockets, also injured four U.S. service members and two Iraqi troops, according to the Defense Department.

The U.S. military says it launched “precision defensive strikes” against three of the militia’s facilities in Iraq and two in Syria. Jonathan Hoffman, an assistant to the secretary of defense, said in a statement that the locations “included weapon storage facilities and command and control locations that KH uses to plan and execute attacks on [Operation Inherent Resolve] coalition forces.” Some of these strikes led to large secondary explosions, Bowman reported.

Hoffman said that KH has a strong link to Iran’s elite Quds Force and said it has received weapons and other support from Iran that it turned on coalition forces.

“The U.S. and its coalition partners fully respect Iraqi sovereignty, and support a strong and independent Iraq,” Hoffman stated. “The U.S., however, will not be deterred from exercising its right of self-defense.”

“Our battle with America and its mercenaries is now open to all possibilities,” KH said in a statement after the strikes, according to The Associated Press. “We have no alternative today other than confrontation and there is nothing that will prevent us from responding to this crime.”

Previous KH strikes had not caused serious injuries. But they were enough to worry U.S. officials. In May, as Bowman reported, “Secretary Mike Pompeo abruptly canceled a trip to Germany and flew to Baghdad because, I’m told, intelligence showed the possibility of a large attack on U.S. forces, presumably by these militias.” That threat did not materialize at the time.

Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi’s office said in a statement that he received a call from U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper shortly before the airstrikes and asked for them to be called off. Abdul-Mahdi decried the strikes as a unilateral act by the U.S.-led coalition that is considered a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty.

A State Department official told reporters that the U.S. is not worried about the potential consequences of the strikes. The official added that it’s the Iraqi government’s “responsibility and duty to protect us, and they have not taken the appropriate steps to do so.” The State Department reports that there have been 11 attacks on Iraqi bases that host coalition forces in the past two months. “This obviously is a campaign,” the official said.

The Iranian Embassy also published a statement in Iraqi local media, calling the strikes against militias a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

With 136 vendors and brand-new Exhibit Hall education, it allowed members to mingle with vendors and learn about the latest in equipment, apparel and innovative products. The final hour was capped off with the Scrap Yard Sports Happy Hour and Exhibit Hall raffle. In conjunction with the Exhibit Hall, the digital silent auction is back and the bidding wars started at 11 a.m. and will conclude at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Find your favorite companies andbid on your favorite items from the comfort of your phone by stopping by each booth and scanning the company’s QR code.

The newest endeavor was the education in the Exhibit Hall. Between 1:00 and 4:45 p.m., large crowds gathered around the batting cage in the back corner of the hall to learn from different companies about their latest technology.

Coaches checked out the first of two Drills, Drills, Drills sessions followed by a packed house for the UCLA coaching staff of head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez and assistants Lisa Fernandez and Kirk Walker in “An Exclusive Look Inside the Bruin Bubble: Coaching Staff Dynamics.” India Chiles (Tennessee) and Caitlin Lowe (Arizona) followed with “Accelerate Your Offense.”

Emceed by Indiana head coach Shonda Stanton, the Mentoring Session opened with a touching address by Pfeiffer’s Vada Blue Sherrill, the first recipient of the Geri Ann Glasco Memorial Scholarship. Stanton brought her high-energy and entertaining personality, as mentors volunteered to give advice and life lessons to young head and assistant coaches. 

Additionally, mentors were asked to “pay it forward” donating money toward great prizes and educational opportunities for the mentees, which included 2019 convention, NFCC and NFCA Clinic registrations as well as regional and national coaching staff visits. This year featured fund-raising activities such as a dance off between Michigan’s Carol Hutchins and Alabama’s Pat Murphy to NFCA Hall of Famer Sharon Drysdale “asking” coaches to donate after “losing” their credential.

The evening was capped off by the Diamond/PGF Social Pool Party at Harrah’s Pool After Dark.

English record champions end the decade a long way from their fabled perch and there have been only a few encouraging signs that things will improve

Manchester United’s trip to Arsenal is a chance to take stock of the club’s progress this year under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The club travel for a New Year’s Day fixture in north London with their opponents now headed up by Mikel Arteta. His appointment brings with it some of the same goodwill that Solskjaer carries with him – but it has been far from easy for the former striker at Old Trafford. 

There are clearly differences in the situations between Solskjaer and Arteta and the latter’s time under Pep Guardiola marks him out as a manager with potential. There is insufficient evidence to suggest Arteta is the right or wrong choice for Arsenal, while after a year Solskjaer has demonstrated both his limitations and his promise.

His greatest achievement is that he still retains the support of the dressing room, no small feat with a squad of players which has seen off one manager after another. If anything, the exuberant spirit that came with United’s initial resurgence under Solskjaer has been rekindled. Recently, there have been indications that lesser teams are more vulnerable to United’s attack after a frustrating period of results against the league’s smaller clubs.

Admittedly, doubts persist. United might be close to the Champions League spots but they are barely clear of mid-table. A tight chasing pack suggests that United are on the fringes of Premier League mediocrity. But there is no guarantee that they are not also firmly embedded in it.

If there is to be a tactical improvement, it must come with the club’s existing players proving that Solskjaer is not just an encouraging figurehead, but a coach who can do more than just assemble a starting XI.

“Starting XI” is the pertinent phrase, too, because there remain justified doubts that his substitutions change matches.

Mason Greenwood’s excellence means that if you need a goal, put him on the pitch. The doubts creep in when Andreas Pereira is seen as a superior option to James Garner, or if Jesse Lingard continues to play ahead of Angel Gomes.

Solskjaer is somewhat trapped; he can’t risk damaging the confidence of young players he eventually wants to use but is punished for using senior players he knows for certain are not capable. A more aggressive manager – more confident in his ability to not only play but improve youngsters – might approach a game with more swagger.

It is well established that United exploit the spaces granted to them by better sides but struggle to break down teams who are ready to launch their own counter-attacks. Solskjaer should be able to figure this conundrum out with the players at his disposal.

Going into the opening of the transfer window, there is a chance for executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to paper over the cracks, and to give an as-yet unproven manager the chance to learn on the job. Signing, for example, a James Maddison or a Christian Eriksen would obviate the need for Solskjaer to find his own solutions from Juan Mata and Lingard.

Against Arsenal, Solskjaer will have no new players to use. He may have Paul Pogba back, and, just as it was for Jose Mourinho, finding a way to get the best out of him could be the difference between success and failure.

Solskjaer’s approach has probably been the best one at hand. He has been unrelentingly positive and fulsome in his praise of the World Cup winner. Instead of subbing him or dropping him pointedly, he has put him at the centre of the team whenever possible.

When these two sides met earlier this season, Pogba featured for the last time before his lengthy injury problems kicked in. If he were to return at his best then a top-four finish would seem more likely. However, there is no guarantee that Pogba will even be at the club by the end of the transfer window.

Whether Solskjaer can engender the much-needed application from Pogba for the rest of the season is far from clear. After a year in charge it is a testament to the intractable nature of the problems facing him that he has made only negligible headway to overcoming his biggest obstacle.

L’américaine et Brigitte ont toutes deux fait preuve de style devant les photographes. La chaîne britannique Channel 4 s’apprête à diffuser un documentaire pour le 20e anniversaire de la mort de la princesse Diana. On pourra notamment y apprendre les détails malheureux de sa vie sexuelle avec Charles.

L’union de Charles et Diana était vouée à l’échec depuis le début, cela ne fait plus l’ombre d’un doute. Le fameux documentaire diffusé très prochainement par la chaîne britannique Channel 4, Diana : In her own Words (Diana, de vive voix), dévoile les détails sordides de la relation entre la princesse et son mari, Charles. Lady Di revient dans des enregistrements inédits sur leur vie sexuelle.

La princesse révèle qu’ils ont arrêté d’avoir des rapports sexuels après la naissance de leur deuxième enfant, Harry. Ces rapports, qu’ils avaient toutes les trois semaines environ, elle les qualifie de « bizarres, très bizarres ». Dans ces interviews réalisées par son coach vocal, Peter Settelen, Diana aborde également l’infidélité du prince Charles : “Il avait l’habitude de voir sa dame [Camilla Parker Bowles, NDLR] toutes les trois semaines. Avant que nous nous marrions.” Elle fait également cette incroyable révélation : le jour où elle a demandé à son mari de se justifier, celui-ci lui a répondu : « Je refuse d’être le seul prince de Galles à n’avoir jamais eu de maîtresse. « Une petite phrase dévastatrice… »Dans ce mariage, nous étions trois, c’est beaucoup“, avait lâché la mère des deux princes en référence à sa rivale de toujours, Camilla. De son côté, le grand amour de Charles expliquera les conséquences pour elle lorsque leur histoire sera révélée aux médias. Harcelée, elle ne pouvait plus sortir de chez elle.

La princesse a aimé son mari, mais elle a très vite déchanté et s’est rendue à l’évidence : son mariage était voué à l’échec. Depuis le fiasco de leur nuit de noces le 29 juillet 1981 jusqu’à leur divorce retentissant 1996, Lady di ne s’est épanouie aux côtés de son mari.

Loana a failli n’être jamais maman. La star de téléréalité confie à France Dimanche qu’à 19 ans, elle a fait un déni de grossesse la poussant à l’avortement. Finalement, elle changera d’avis…

Loana est passée par des moments très durs. Maintenant que tout va mieux, la star du Loft peut raconter les épreuves qu’elle a dû surmonter. Elle dévoile cette semaine dans France Dimanche les détails de sa grossesse, un épisode douloureux : “J’avais 19 ans à l’époque et j’ai fait un déni de grossesse. J’avais toujours mes règles, pas de ventre, mais des douleurs aux seins. Je suis donc allée voir mon gynéco, qui a fait une échographie et m’a annoncé que j’étais enceinte de 4 mois et demi !« .

En 1997, la jeune femme encore inconnue pense à l’avortement : »Comme il était trop tard pour avorter en France, je me suis tournée vers l’Espagne. Je ne voyais tellement pas d’avenir pour mon bébé et moi.”Lors de la « dernière échographie », Loana est prise de remord : “J’ai vu son petit profil, ses mains, ses pieds, son cœur qui battait… j’ai été bouleversée ! Mais je suis quand même allée là-bas.” Elle change alors d’avis : “J’ai réfléchi pendant deux heures à l’aéroport et j’ai pris l’avion du retour. Boostée par les hormones de la grossesse et le bonheur d’avoir découvert ce petit être qui grandissait en moi, j’étais heureuse.”

La réaction du père a été brutale : « Toi et ce que tu as dans le ventre, je ne veux plus jamais vous voir !” lui aurait-il lancé. Désemparée, Loana a donc placé son bébé en pouponnière en attenant de lui offrir la vie équilibrée dont un enfant a besoin. Lorsqu’elle s’est sentie prête, les services sociaux lui ont barré la route. »Il m’a fallu justifier d’un emploi stable, d’un logement, d’horaires aménagés, m’engager à ne pas confier la petite à une nounou, etc. Mais expliquez-moi comment vous faites pour travailler si vous ne pouvez pas faire garder votre enfant ? Et pour ne rien arranger, je dansais en boîte de nuit, donc c’était mission impossible !“, témoigne-t-elle dans France Dimanche. C’est le père de Mindy, en raison de sa situation plus stable, qui a obtenu la garde l’enfant et s’en est occupé tel « un père merveilleux ».

Si Loana n’avait pas été prise de doute face à l’avortement, Mindy n’aurait jamais vu le jour. Fruit d’une double vie, l’enfant a grandi sans savoir cette épisode, loin de sa mère. Elle ne l’a appris qu’en lisant l’ouvrage de sa maman Elle s’appelait… miette, sorti en 2001.
