Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Big Cass has upset WWE officials because he went off-script during a segment on last week’s episode of SmackDown Live on the USA Network that involved a little person, who was dressed as Daniel Bryan and ended with Cass beating him down in the middle of the ring.
The original idea was for Cass to hit a big boot to the person and stand tall but he wanted and eventually did a spot where he hit the big boot then connected with several punches. This is where he went wrong.
This leads us to WWE officials reportedly unhappy and put him in hot water. Thus, the reason he wasn’t featured on this week’s SmackDown Live and likely lost to Daniel Bryan at Backlash.

Starting Bankroll: $1,500

Current Bankroll: $1,030.06

Last week: 3/5 Overall 65/114 (57%)

Two big shows this weekend, with Bellator 140 tonight and UFC Fight Night 72 tomorrow morning/afternoon in North America or evening in the UK. I’ve looked up and down both cards and found 5 value picks. One from tonight’s show and 4 from tomorrow’s.

Pick 1 – Douglas Lima (26-5) -175 over Andrey Koreshkov (17-1) I’m betting $100 to win $57.14

This is the main event of the Bellator show and Lima defends his Welterweight title against tournament winner Koreshkov. Lima has looked outstanding in Bellator, with 5 straight KO wins and I think he gets a sixth here. He’s faced a much tougher level of competition than Koreshkov.

Pick 2 – Rob Whiteford (11-2) -145 over Paul Redmond (11-4) I’m betting $100 to win $68.97

Whiteford will be a huge hometown hero in his native Scotland and he should blitz Redmond fairly easily. Redmond should losing his 2nd straight here, after also losing his UFC debut earlier this year.

Pick 3 – Teemu Peckalen (7-0) -125 over Mickael Lebout (12-4-2) I’m betting $100 to win $80

Peckalen is making his UFC debut. He’s won every one of his career fights by KO or submission. Lebout has fought once in UFC, just this past April and lost to lightly regarded Sergio Moraes. Peckalen should have a successful start to his UFC career here.

Pick 4 – Jimmie Rivera (16-1) -125 over Marcus Brimage (6-4) I’m betting $100 to win $80

Rivera is also making his UFC debut but has some impressive wins on the regional circuit, including Jesse Brock, Cody Stevens and Carson Beebe. He’s knocked out each of his last two opponents, including a 16 second win in his last fight. Brimage has lost 3 of his last 4, including being knocked out twice and shouldn’t be much of a match for Rivera here.

Pick 5 – Paddy Holohan (11-1-1) -185 over Vaughan Lee (14-10-1)

Holohan is a training partner of Conor McGregor and the luck of the Irish should carry over here, as Holohan has looked great so far in his UFC career. With his charisma, he could be just a couple of wins away from competing for a title in the relatively weak flyweight division. Lee has been finished in 3 of his last 5 fights and will probably make it 4 of 6 here.

All told, I’m betting $500 with a chance to win $340.16

On with the betting game.

2015 Betting Game: Secret Psychic Spy vs Ryan Frederick

Current Standings:

Ryan Frederick: $1,082.53 (Picked Lawler, Gordon, Hein, Alvarez, Ortega, Noons, Browne, Magny, Matthews)

Secret Psychic Spy: $1,290.18 (Picked Samman, Bosse, Amirkhani, Henderson, Breese, Pyle, Wee, Andrews)

Both of us were winners last weekend but young Ryan crept a little closer as Robbie Lawler was slightly more of an underdog than Samman was. I’m going with the debuting Jimmie Rivera at -125 for the reasons indicated above.

Ryan’s pick is Thales Leites at +105 over Michael Bisping. Bisping is good on home soil but Leites is on a solid win streak and has been getting the job done impressively in his UFC comeback. I see him as a better fighter at this stage over Bisping and winning a close fight.

Good luck, enjoy the fights and remember, don’t bet more than you can afford to lose and try to have fun with it!

WWE is reporting that SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon underwent hernia surgery last Friday in New York. The surgery was a success.
WWE is reporting that McMahon is back home and resting and he is excited to get back to work on Smackdown Live. There’s no word on how long he will be off WWE television.
McMahon was also suffering from diverticulitis during the weeks leading up to WrestleMania. The diverticulitis and hernia issues put into question whether he would be able to wrestle on the show and, at one point, there was a backup plan for Chris Jericho to replace McMahon.

Of course, McMahon gutted his way through the match and Jericho was not needed. We wish him a speedy recovery from the hernia surgery.

SUNDAY’S NEWS UPDATE

UFC was the fifth most searched term in the U.S. with 100,000 yesterday.  Hulk Hogan was No. 8 with 50,000.  On Friday, Hogan was No. 2 with 1 million.
On Twitter this morning, UFC has 152,000 tweets and nothing else having to do with boxing or MMA or wrestling had any substantial numbers.
The Hulk Hogan firing was among the top stories of the day on the Sky News App in the U.K. and the BBC digital text service under World News, rather than sports, which is the first story since the Benoit incident eight years ago to get that kind of coverage.  It was the third top story.  There were also numerous reports on the BBC web site. (thanks to Gary Mehaffy and Matthew Singh Donsanjh)
At Friday’s C.M. Punk Q&A at the UFC event, someone who challenged him on Twitter went to the Q&A and tried to provoke a confrontation.  Punk basically told him off.  Punk has become like the old time small heel that fans attack because they think they can take him in the old pro wrestling days.  Punk said he thought Dana White would beat Vince McMahon in a fight.  What else is he going to say today?   Megan Olivi, who was hosting, basically told the guy to leave and they turned off his mic.
At this writing, the top five matches from today’s New Japan show in Hiroshima, including A.J. Styles vs. Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito are up on New Japan World.  The undercard is not yet up.  Not sure the time zone thing but it looks like it’ll be up late tonight.
Dana White outright said that Miesha Tate would be getting a title shot at the Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia winner next.  Tate got the biggest reaction last night of anyone on the show, but the people hated her boyfriend, Bryan Caraway.  Not a surprise if you think about it.
Sasha Banks worked the show last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles that was headlined by John Cena vs. Kevin Owens in a street fight, which went 27:00.
Enzo & Cass were on the other tour, wrestling in Odessa, TX last night.  They were put over The Ascension.
Stephen Amell of Arrow and WWE continue to be in the gossip pages, with rumors of him appearing on the Raw show in Everett, WA on 8/10.
A trailer for the AAA TripleMania on 8/9  PPV show
At yesterday’s ROH tapings in Baltimore, The Cauliflower Team was Chase Brown & Peter Kaasa
David Otunga will be a guest on the Steve Harvey talk show tomorrow discussing health and nutrition
Son of the TNA talent flew to the U.K. including Drew Galloway to work for the major indie shows this weekend but I think they’ll be back once they start taping for Impact.  Most of the tapings thus far have been assorted matches for One Night Only and Xplosion shows.
In fact, this was Drew Galloway vs. Rhino from last night in Glasgow.
The Daily Mail in the U.K. talks Vince McMahon’s skit years ago on TV where he used the N word.
Bleacher Report ran a story about UFC’s Elias Theodorou facing Kris Chambers at an indie pro wrestling show in Toronto recently.  I guess he didn’t know that UFC contracts don’t allow you to do pro wrestling.
Undertaker will be appearing at the Wizard World Comic Con in Tulsa on 10/24.
Jim Ross announced talk show dates for 9/11 in Knoxville at the International and 9/20 in Houston at 4 p.m. at the Warehouse Live Ballroom, which will be a few hours before the Night of Champions PPV that night at the Toyota Center.
At the beginning of last night’s Battlelfield Fight League show on The Fight Network, from Richmond, BC, they announced at the start of the broadcast an In Memory graphic for fighter Oliver Evanshen, who recently passed away.  Evanshen was an area amateur with a 5-0 record. (thanks to Ed Ludwig)
Dana White story regarding his Twitter outburst a few nights ago on the USA Today site
White then blasted USA Today saying how when UFC no longer pays them (buys advertising) that they are giving them far less coverage.  I’ve seen Eric Bischoff and Vince McMahon go through some phases, but it was usually when things were going down fast.  For someone whose business is actually doing very well to do stuff like that reaction last night to Stitch Duran, that’s actually unique.

Here’s notes from his response to the Stitch Duran firing
Seriously, at least when Ole Anderson did that promo in 1980 the goal was for people to hate him.

GoFundMe campaign started for Jerry Lynn

July 23, 2020 | News | No Comments

Submitted by Brian Fritz

I’m hoping that you can help spread the word on the GoFundMe campaignthat has just started to help former TNA X-Division, ECW World Champion, and Ring of Honor champion Jerry Lynn. Jerry is one of the best guys you will ever meet in and out of wrestling. Plus, he had a fantastic 25-year career putting on exciting wrestling matches that have thrilled so many of us.

All those years of taking bumps have taken a toll on him and he needs our help, so we’re looking to raise money for his medical bills with a Go Fund Me campaign. Any amount will help.

– Jerry has been experiencing chronic neck pain as well as pain in his right arm and numbness. The first procedure will be neck surgery to remove bones spurs, replace three degenerative discs, and fuse his vertebrae. He will be having this procedure done on Thursday, August 6.

– Jerry has also been suffering with severe pain in his back for the last three months due to a bulging disc. He will likely need surgery for this as well, and he hopes to have that done as soon as possible following his neck surgery.

Jerry does have medical insurance, but he needs help in paying the $5000 deductible. Plus, he will be out of work recovering for 2-3 months, which will put a hardship on his family, including his wife and young daughter.

To help cover all of his expenses, we are hoping to raise $15,000. Jerry would like to give anything over that amount to charity to help others in need. The charity he has chosen is the Nashville Rescue Mission which seeks to help the hurting of Middle Tennessee by offering food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless and recovery programs to those enslaved in life degrading problems.

It is time for us as a wrestling community to pull together and give back to Jerry after everything he has done for us, his fans. This is our moment to give back and help one of the truly great guys.

Last week, TNA paid tribute to Roddy Piper with a video package – it wasn’t quite as long as Dusty’s, but still good.Ken Anderson beat the perpetually-contracted Bram, Gail Kim beat the Dollhouse, and Eli Drake stole a pin and debuted a new yellow and black taped-up #sitdown shirt. Rockstar Spud beat Austin Aries in a Rockstar name vs. Career match to send Aries out of the company for at least a little while. In bigger news, EC3 beat Matt Hardy in a TLC match, and Bully Ray was taken out by a mystery attacker. As a result, TNA was left without an authority figure until Jeff Jarrett volunteered.

In the days since, TNA has released information on Facebook and Youtube about this being a GFW vs. TNA show. Instead of using their global TV show to announce this, they used social media, which seems like either forward thinking or not thinking things through. Either way, the company announced some new talent will be getting exposed nationally like Trevor Lee, while Lei’D Tapa returns to a TNA ring and the former Justin Gabriel PJ Black debuts in TNA alongside Chris Mortetsky as highly-talented WWE mid-carders that could have been used better than they were.

The show begins with Jeff Jarrett and some of his GFW crew entering the building as the hype video builds up GFW vs. TNA as an interpromotional war. We’ll get the Wolves against Trevor Lee and Bryan Myers and a defense of the King of the Mountain title. Jeff and Karen come down and slap hands with the fans. Jeff says that he’s now done with his TNA days thanks to GFW, which is about competing at the highest level…isn’t that what all companies should be? Jeff equates this to the Lakers-Celtics and says that the KOTM title will be vacated and defended tonight. EY comes down and tells Jeff that he isn’t the King of the Mountain, he is the King of the World and God, while Jeff is just “the booker man”. Yes folks, it’s 2015. EY jumps Jarrett and the GFW crew comes down to brawl with TNA stars like Robbie E and some other people that can’t be seen due to tight camera shots and jump cuts.

The GFW roster is pissed about this attack, but Jeff tells them it isn’t an invasion and it’s all about respect. “Mr. TNA” Josh Mathews and Elijah Burke, whose action figure has his WWE jacket, are angry about all these damned non-TNA guys coming in to TNA. Lei’D Tana comes down with her husband Royal Red to face Awesome King. Red tells Kong to bow to Tapa, so hopefully he gets beaten up a bit. Kong comes down and they talk more about this not being an invasion, but hating the GFW guys anyway.

Lei’D Tapa vs. Awesome Kong

They ram into each other a bit until Kong gets 2 off a crossbody. Kong clotheslines her down a few times before hitting a splash and getting 2. Tapa took a pretty awful bump for the final of three lariats there, but gets a Samoan drop for 2. Kong gets a chokeslam and clotheslines her to the floor over the top rope. They brawl on the floor for a double countount and brawl some more. Wow was this not good.

Josh talks about the KOTM match and we learn that PJ Black will be here and we get a brief interview with him saying he loves jumping out of planes and then hops back on his phone like he was when he came into the building with Jeff. After a break, Drew says he jumped off a shark cage in the KOTM match, and he’ll do whatever it takes to win.

Bobby Roode is in the ring talking about being pissed about Jarrett coming in and him not being in the main event. Bobby Roode is perhaps the only man angry about not being included in the king of the mountain match. He’s mad at Jeff, but even more mad at Spud for ending Austin Aries’s TNA career. Spud appears to be starstruck by Roode, but says he’s amazed at what a prick he is. Spud talks about Roode being a bully while Roode says there isn’t a person who can stop him, and Spud attacks him. Roode defends himself and chokes Spud with his jacket before hitting the Roode Bomb. Spud gets tossed to the floor and then shoulder-first into the steps before a crossface.

Jeff runs into Roode backstage and yells at him. “The Man” Jesse Godderz is mid-ring to face LASHLEY!? They’ve spent the better part of a year to build up Lashley in some way and he’s just back here with no hype or anything. Also, the winner goes onto the KOTM match.

Jesse Godderz vs. Lashley

Lashley clotheslines him down after some trash talk. Josh talks about “that woman Ronda Rousey beat up” while both Josh and Pope talk about how they don’t remember her name. Lashley gets a corner shoulder and a delayed suplex. Jesse gets a knee shot and lands a dropkick to the face before getting an inverted bearhug. Lashley lands a punch and a spinning back elbow to send Jesse down. Lashley takes him for a brief trip to suplex city with a German and overhead belly to belly. An Edge “spear, spear, spear” chant breaks out, but Jesse powerslams him for 2.  Jesse poses instead of doing the Adonis Crab, but gets kicked off and eats a spear for a loss.

Full Metal Mayhem clips from last week air. EC3 and Tyrus walk backstage, but we hear that there’s something going on and Drew is taken out – so TNA is down a man for the KOTM Title match. We get clips on the Drew attack again and Jeff talks to Dixie about this being “something”  and telling Dixie “trust me” over and over.

EC3 comes down to cut a promo, with Tyrus in an “I’m a Glorious Unicorn” singlet. EC3 says that Matt fought him in his own game and lost. When he defends the title, he’s in God mode and he’s the champion forever. Matt Hardy limps down and gives EC3 credit for beating a Hardy in a Hardy specialty. However, he’s not going to stop because he won’t die. EC3 says he now respects Matt, but it’s up to the people to give Matt a shot. EC3 says no, so Tyrus attacks him. EC3 hits him with the title and it appears that TNA is now using a replica belt judging by the cheap-looking leather backing. The Wolves walk backstage to face Trevor Lee and Bryan Myers.

Taryn tells the Dolls to take out Gail Kim next week inside a cage. It will be a very special “Turning Point” show. Josh talks about Myers and Lee while Bryan’s “@TheCurtHawkins” Twitter handle is shown. While that is needed for his account to be verified, I’m surprised they showed it on TV.

Bryan Myers and Trevor Lee vs. The Wolves

Josh hypes up TNA’s Youtube shows while Myers eats offense from the Wolves. The GFW team gets low-bridged and hit with a pair of baseball slides. Stero dives hit on the floor and Josh talks about Trevor growing up in Cameron, NC and growing up admiring Shane Helms. Bryan’s Jerry Lynn circa-ECW gear is nice. A Davey missile dropkick gets 2 on Lee before we get a forearm exchange between Lee and Davey. Trevor gets a slick deadlift German suplex for 2! The Wolves get the powerbomb>back cracker to win.

Lashley talks about defending TNA and being able to win in any fighting area he’s in. Tigre Uno comes down to face Sonjay Dutt, who has a very generic theme despite being in TNA for years. He also has no entrance video, which kind of makes sense on one level since he’s a GFW guy, but this is being done with TNA’s cooperation.

Tigre Uno vs. Sonjay Dutt

After Tigre ties Sonjay up using his own limbs, Sonjay gets a rana. They fight to the floor where Sonjay gets a running spinning rana. Sonjay sends him in and gets a springboard Rey Mysterio splash for 2. Josh reads his WWE commentator rulebook and talks about Drew being taken to a local medical facility while Tigre wins by rolling through a rana with a sunset flip and Josh brags about it being yet another win for TNA. Jeff Jarrett talks to EC3 and Tyrus – he’s proud of EC3 and says that next week, he’ll defend the TNA World Title against the winner of the King of the Mountain match.

We get a Mr. Anderson highlight video in TNA while he talks about what the mic represents. The mic stands for all of his success in TNA – his world titles, and it’s a symbol for him. He’ll face Bram next week in an open mic challenge. Robbie E comes down to replace Drew Galloway and defend TNA like he did in the opening brawl. The second entrant is PJ Black, who has the best theme of any of the GFW guys. Chris Mortetsky comes out while Josh buries him for being the second Adonis in TNA – behind Godderz. The World Class Maniac, the Lunatic Unhinged, the Deranged Eric Young comes down. Lashley is the last man out. Wow is this a random match.

TNA Legends/Global/World TV/King of the Mountain Title Match – Robbie E vs. PJ Black vs. Chris Mordetsky vs. Eric Young vs. Lashley

Lashley pins EY quickly and now Lashley is eligible for win. PJ gets a flash pin on Chris, so both EY and Chris are in the box. Robbie hits the Boom Drop onto PJ Black to send a third man into the box. Lashley beats Robbie E and then the first guys in the box, who we never saw, leave and brawl on the floor. EY and Mordetsky celebrate after the break, but EY eats a schoolboy and loses.

Pope points out several logic holes here, including why guys on opposite sides are talking to each other and why guys on the same “team” aren’t helping each other. During the Mortetsky lock on Lashley, Robbie E dives off the penalty box onto them to break it up. Robbie tosses PJ into the box, which pisses off EY. EY leaves the cage and hits him in the nuts before piledriving Robbie onto the steps so he can be sent into the box. Mordetsky and PJ Black brawl over the belt while Pope talks about the very prestigious King of the Mountain/World TV/Global/Legends title. Chris and PJ brawl on top of the ladder, but Lashley tips the ladder over and hits them with spears.

Lashley climbs up, but EY tips the ladder over. PJ does the Shelton rope to ladder hop and brawls with EY. Lashley climbs up top and spears EY off the ladder. That was easily the best spot of the night. PJ gets a 450 off the ladder sorta onto Lashley and wins the King of the Mountain title. This was quite the must-miss show even though the potential was there for everything here to be at least interesting to watch with new blood on Impact. Absolutely nothing clicked on the show and it’s sad to see how much worse the show has gotten over the past few weeks after a mostly good-to-great run of TV shows.

For TV this week:

Enzo, Big Cass, Mojo Rawley & Zack Ryder b Jason Jordan, Chad Gable, Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder with Enzo and Cass with the Rocket Launcher

They opened the show with Enzo and Big Cass without Carmella. Loudest reaction I have heard in a long time. Amazing. They started the match with Ryder and a minute later the crowd was chanting “We want Enzo”. They did a spot where the babyfaces threw Enzo to the outside on the heels. Huge pop.

Eva Marie b Carmella with Sliced Red #2

Eva Marie was booed big time. Carmella didn’t get half of the pop Enzo and Big Cass got, coming by herself. Eva Marie got the usual “You can’t wrestle” chant. Nothing match. Far from the level of a regular NXT women’s match.

Bull Dempsey b Elias Samson with a modified Vader bomb.

Instead of a splash he sat down on Samson. Better reaction for Dempsey than I was expecting.

Emma b Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Dana Brooke with her running crossbody in the corner

Becky was the star here to the fans. She got a bigger reaction than Charlotte. Weird deal. I believe Becky didn’t kick out at 2 so the referee (Drake Younger) counted 3, but it was clear in his face and on Emma’s that it wasn’t the finish. After a minute they made Charlotte speared Emma. Brooke came to the ring and Becky took her out so they could do the simultaneous Figure 8 and Fujiwara armbar. Seemed like it was done to have a babyface reaction at the end to save the heel finish.

Notes:

– Triple H came to the ring for his show opening promo to a huge pop and “Thank you Hunter” chant.  He said he has 13,569 reasons to thanks the crowd.

– Next WWE show at Barclays: RAW on December 28

– NXT heads to the UK from December 10-16 with tickets for their tour going on sale on August 28.

– Tonight’s show started 15-20 minutes late.

WWE Superstars:

– R-Truth def. Adam Rose. Rose did the party pooper gimmick he was doing at the weekend house shows.

– Neville and the Lucha Dragons def. Stardust and The Ascension when Neville hit the Red Arrow for the pin and win.

Post Raw:

After Cena and Sting left, Cena came right back out to his music. This led to…

– John Cena & Randy Orton def. Seth Rollins & Sheamus when Orton pinned Sheamus in 10 minutes after a lot of AA’s and RKOs.

Notes:

– The crowd was into Sting in the opening segment.

– The women’s beat the clock series was very disappointing. PCB and Sasha Banks got big reactions for their entrances, but it was quiet during the first two matches. Lots of Sasha and Paige chants for the short amount of time that lasted.

– Big reaction for Kevin Owens. Ambrose and Reigns were also over. No boos at all for Reigns.

– Dudleys and New Day got big reactions when they came out, but crowd got tired during this match.

– Cena reaction was about 75 percent favorable.

– Interesting that Rollins’ line about Sting killing WCW got a lot of boos. WCW did big business in Florida, but we’re talking 15-20 years ago and even further beyond that.

A string of blasts tore through Afghanistan’s capital on Wednesday morning in the latest of a series of relentless attacks which have killed scores in recent weeks.

Officials said at least five were killed and up to 15 wounded after suicide attackers and gunmen attacked two police stations in Kabul.

Islamic State group claimed responsibility, the group’s Amaq news agency reported.

The Afghan capital has been besieged by a deadly suicide bombing campaign that has killed scores. The beleaguered government is struggling against both a long-running Taliban-led insurgency, and local militants who have sworn allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) extremist group. Both groups are expected to attack nationwide elections scheduled for October.

Last week 25 were killed including nine journalists in two blasts near an Afghan intelligence agency office.

A week earlier, an Isil suicide bomber attacked a voter registration centre in Kabul, killing 60 people, while in March the extremists killed 31 at a Shiite shrine in the city.

The Taliban a fortnight ago announced its annual spring offensive and the militants have continued to advance on district centres.

Britain has around 600 troops in the country, largely as security forces and military trainers in the capital, while America has around 15,000. The long-running Afghan campaign is now America’s longest war, and last year Donald Trump vowed a more aggressive campaign, pledging to “fight to win”.

Yet outside the capital, the Taliban continued to advance on rural district centres and capture local administrative centres.

Mohammad Hashim, a member of parliament from Faryab province, said the Taliban captured the district headquarters in Bilchirgh early Wednesday after more than 40 security forces retreated under heavy fire.

A day earlier, the insurgents had captured the district compound in the remote Tala wa Barfak district, in the northern Baghlan province.

In Badghis province, eight soldiers were killed in an attack on a school being used as a voter registration centre.

A US congressional watchdog last week painted a bleak picture of progress in the war, saying that nearly one-in-seven of the country’s districts are under the control or influence of insurgents.

The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction said the Afghan security forces had sharply decreased in the past year. It said the combined total of police and army personnel had fallen nearly 36,000 to 296,000.

Those that hoped to see a superkick party in a WWE or NXT ring will have to wait a while longer.

Nick & Matt Jackson — the Young Bucks — have signed an exclusive deal with Ring Of Honor, announced by the promotion Wednesday morning and by the Bucks in this video. Matt, 30, and Nick, 29, have been part of ROH since 2009.

While ROH called the deal ‘exclusive’, the Bucks will continue to work with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The former ROH Tag Team Champions are also three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Length and terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

On Wednesday night’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer added some details:

– They can’t work in U.S., Canada, or Mexico for anyone other than California-based PWG.

– They will be working 10 weeks a year for New Japan at a minimum.

– They get to keep their t-shirt business.

There had been some buzz in recent week that the Bucks might be on their way to NXT, given the WWE’s developmental organization’s recent propensity for signing talents like Samoa Joe, James Storm, Uhaa Nation, and others.

From the release:

“We evaluate the landscape right now, we look around at professional wrestling, and everything is evolving. Tag team wrestling is what we do, and this place [Ring of Honor] has the best tag team division in the world, and we want the best competition,” said Matt Jackson. “We want the best matches. It’s all about quality for us. We call Ring of Honor home; you’ll be seeing a lot of us.”
