As noted, WWE returns to the Talking Stick Resort Arena for the third time in four days, as they run the post-Royal Rumble television taping for the blue brand this evening.

In addition to the new episode of SmackDown Live on the USA Network, this week’s post-Royal Rumble edition of 205 Live will premiere on the WWE Network tonight.

WWE.com released the following preview for tonight’s show:

WWE 205 Live preview, Jan. 29. 2019: Is Buddy Murphy truly unstoppable?

At Royal Rumble, Buddy Murphy defeated Hideo Itami, Kalisto and Akira Tozawa in a thrilling Fatal 4-Way Match to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Who will be the next Superstar to try to dethrone the champion?

Buddy Murphy proves to be a dominant champion

Since winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WWE Super Show-Down, Buddy Murphy has proven to be a successful fighting champion, defeating the likes of Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali to assert his place at the top of the Cruiserweight division. Murphy has also tested his mettle in non-title competition against NXT UK’s Mark Andrews and WWE 205 Live’s newest Superstar Humberto Carrillo.

At WWE Royal Rumble Kickoff, Murphy emerged victorious in a Fatal 4-Way against Kalisto, Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami. However, as WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick seeks the best Cruiserweight competitors in the world, and with The Road to WrestleMania underway, Murphy will no doubt have his work cut out for him if he wants to remain champion.

Don’t miss WWE 205 Live, tonight at 10/9 C, streaming on the award-winning WWE Network!

Saturday night marked a big milestone for the reigning NXT World Champion.

Tommaso Ciampa took to social media ahead of the NXT live event in Lowell, Massachusetts to write about Saturday marking the 14-year anniversary of his pro wrestling debut, which coincidentally enough, took place in Lowell, Massachusetts with the Chaotic Wrestling promotion.

“My career began 14 years ago in Lowell, MA with Chaotic Wrestling,” wrote Ciampa on his official Twitter page prior to the NXT Lowell event on Saturday afternoon. “Today, I return to the city where it all began as The Champ.”

Ciampa continued, “I would tell you that ‘dreams come true’ but the truth is 99% of you are far too lazy to actually achieve your dreams.”

Ciampa teamed with NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano in the tag-team main event of the aforementioned NXT Lowell house show, losing to the duo of Velveteen Dream and Ricochet.

The fallout between Braun Strowman and Colin Jost has spilled onto social media.

Following his appearance on a recent episode of WWE RAW, the Saturday Night Live (SNL) Weekend Update co-host took to social media to post a snarky message at the WWE Superstar. This led to some back-and-forth between the two, which WWE has featured in an article on their official website.

WWE.com released the following article on the subject:

Colin Jost responds to Braun Strowman wrecking gifted car

Maybe he should’ve gotten the insurance? That’s what Colin Jost is thinking after the “Saturday Night Live” mainstay watched Braun Strowman go full “Wreck-It Ralph” on a brand-new car he “gifted” The Monster Among Men on Raw. Jost’s kind gesture was his way of sliding in a peace offering to Strowman following their contentious encounter during the March 4 edition of Raw.

But, seeing as how things didn’t quite go according to plan – with Strowman even promising to gift him a pair of “These Hands” – Jost took to Twitter with another “attempt” at striking an accord.

When Jost and his “Weekend Update” co-host Michael Che arrive at WrestleMania to fulfill their Special Guest Correspondent duties, they’d best avoid Strowman — fortunately for them, he’s easy to spot.

WWE announces NXT TakeOver: WarGames for December

November 20, 2020 | News | No Comments

WWE has revealed the date and theme of NXT’s next TakeOver special.

It was announced tonight that NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2020 will take place on Sunday, December 6. This will be the fourth straight year that NXT has held a TakeOver: WarGames event. Prior to this year, the show had been held over Survivor Series weekend in November.

The announcement of the show was made in a promo featuring Shotzi Blackheart. Blackheart told Candice LeRae to get an army because they’re going to go to war. WWE has announced that it will be Team Shotzi vs. Team Candice in this year’s women’s WarGames match. LeRae also took part in the first-ever women’s WarGames match last year. She was on the winning side as Team Ripley defeated Team Baszler.

On NXT two weeks ago, LeRae destroyed Blackheart’s tank. LeRae & Indi Hartwell teamed together on NXT tonight to defeat Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro. LeRae & Hartwell then helped Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez attack Ember Moon & Toni Storm later in the show.

While not confirmed, WWE has also been building up Undisputed Era vs. Pat McAfee, Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch & Pete Dunne ahead of TakeOver: WarGames.

Band describes how the Clinton Foundation served as a conduit for what he called “Bill Clinton Inc.” — the former president’s for-profit arm. Other documents show State Department involvement.

The result is an unsavory mix of charity work, profiteering, and pay-to-play politics that potentially reaches the highest levels of US foreign policy and screams for IRS and Department of Justice reviews.

At center is Band and his consulting firm Teneo. Band served as gatekeeper to all things Bill Clinton. Those wanting a former president as golf partner ponied up. Requests for Foundation dough followed. Next came Clinton Inc. — the steady stream of speeches, books, and honorary titles that enriched Bill Clinton. Teneo managed it all.

Huge corporations and others seeking Clinton’s orbit lined up. Teneo’s clients included major U.S. corporations Coca-Cola and Dow Chemical, which donated huge sums.

Foreign firms like UBS donated and greased Clinton Inc.

For-profit Laureate International Universities went further, buying Clinton “advice” and rights to his prestige for $3.5 million annually. In all, Band states Teneo’s management yielded the former president $50 million — including a $2 million upfront slice of Band’s firm — with another $66 million queued. Band also facilitated political activity including securing campaign donors and managing Clinton’s political schedule.

Before daughter Chelsea Clinton intervened and ordered a compliance review, no one separated charity from profit-making time. Blurred lines were most blatant at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) — the annual confab where the world’s elite fete the former president and discuss world events.

According to the memo Teneo embedded at the conference’s hotel, hustled business, comped $20,000 CGI memberships to potential clients, and burnished its Clinton-gatekeeper role.

At one point Band even had Clinton staff calling British lawmakers for Dow Chemical “on behalf of President Clinton.” Band justified the set up arguing, “I believed, rightly or wrongly, that Teneo’s further development of its clients to be bigger donors to the Foundation and CGI was an important priority.”

Nice foundation you got there — be a shame if my clients weren’t funding it.

From an IRS standpoint, red flags should abound. Charities must detail how they separate nonprofit from for-profit business. Those benefiting private interests or inure “insider” private gain lose their tax-deductible status because Treasury is cheated.

One IRS concern is, “Establishing exclusive business dealings with a particular for-profit business.” Band was clearly jeopardizing the Foundation’s status. Clinton eventually resigned as Teneo’s honorary chairman and kept only $100,000.

More disturbing was the unseemly mix of Band and Teneo clients with the State Department during Ms. Clinton’s tenure.

The Daily Beast reviewed lobbying records and found Teneo clients Alibaba, Coca-Cola, and Dow received State Department munificence.

Alibaba — criticized for helping the Chinese government crackdown on internet freedom — lobbied State on intellectual property rights.

Coca-Cola double dipped by receiving excise-tax help with Pakistan and Thailand.

Dow avoided liability in India for a predecessor company’s accident that killed thousands because the Obama administration helped it avoid Indian courts.

Maybe it’s all coincidence.

But Band also influenced State in other ways. He procured jobs at the prestigious agency. When he said one person was “important to take care of,” Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin responded, “(State Department) personnel is sending him options.”

He got Dow executives invited to State functions with Secretary Clinton in Japan. And Abedin consulted him to ensure people requesting a meeting on a foreign trip were “legit cgi people.”

This is serious. Federal regulations bar government employees from using “public office for . . . private gain . . . or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations . . .” Bribery laws are also potentially relevant.

The Clinton attitude toward rules is well known. When asked about the Clinton Global Initiative last year, Carly Fiorina stated, “What don’t we know about (Clinton Foundation) donors? What don’t we know about the conflicts of interest that those donors represent when Mrs. Clinton is serving as Secretary of State?”

Wiki Leaks is showing us what we didn’t know and it may be criminal.

Animalistic aggression

After seemingly trying to goad Triple H into a physical confrontation on SmackDown 1000 last year, Batista provoked The Game once more this past Monday night by crashing Ric Flair’s 70th birthday, attacking “The Nature Boy” in his locker room and dragging Flair — Triple H’s mentor — out into the arena hallway.

The Cerebral Assassin rushed backstage to confront The Animal, but Batista had already left the scene. The Game isn’t known for letting transgressions slide, so how will he deal with the actions of his former friend on Raw?

What is the status of the Raw Women’s Championship?

In addition to addressing the horrific actions of Batista, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have another situation escalating in the Raw Women’s division. After Becky Lynch was arrested for violating her suspension this past Monday night, Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey urged Stephanie to allow The Man to challenge for the title at WrestleMania. The Chief Brand Officer then reiterated that Lynch would not be competing at The Show of Shows, and that The Baddest Woman on the Planet would defend her title against SmackDown LIVE’s Charlotte Flair as scheduled.

Given the McMahon family’s refusal to budge on the Lynch situation, Rousey laid the title down in front of Stephanie and left it there, leaving many to wonder if The Rowdy One would carry the championship to WrestleMania at all.

Meanwhile, Charlotte announced on SmackDown LIVE this week that she would come to Raw to be crowned Raw Women’s Champion by Mr. McMahon. Will The Queen claim the throne on Team Red?

Is a Shield reunion on the horizon?

After revealing to the WWE Universe that his leukemia is in remission, Roman Reigns joined Seth Rollins in helping Dean Ambrose repel a 4-on-1 beatdown at the hands of Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Elias and Baron Corbin. The act of salvation confused The Lunatic Fringe just as much as it did the WWE Universe given Ambrose’s betrayal of The Shield last October — the same night The Big Dog disclosed that his leukemia had returned.

Were Reigns and Rollins hinting that they’re ready to forgive Ambrose, or were The Hounds of Justice simply living up to their name given the unfair circumstances?

Intercontinental and Extraordinary

After Lio Rush inadvertently challenged Finn Bálor to an Intercontinental Championship Match and lost this past Monday night, Bobby Lashley was furious with his hype man for getting the title opportunity that he was supposed to arrange for “The All Mighty One.” The Man of the Hour affirmed to Lashley that he could still be trusted. Will Rush get Lashley another opportunity, or will another Superstar step to the Intercontinental Irishman?

Yes, the popular duo of SNL’s “Weekend Update” will be special guests on tomorrow’s Raw from Philadelphia. With neither Che or Jost afraid to tell it like it is, what will the two popular personalities have in store for the longest running episodic program in television history?
