Roman Reigns recently appeared as a guest on CBS Sports’ “In This Corner” podcast to promote his showdown against WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 next month. Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On if his WrestleMania match with The Undertaker lived up to his expectations: “I don’t think it ever could, really. It’s a hard spot for The Undertaker to have such a storied career, to have such a huge list of ridiculously good matches, and to have that respect, and to have that mystique, and to have that reputation as the godfather of the professional wrestling and sports entertainment business. So, everyone’s thought about what it would be like to be in a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania to where you hype it up so much that it’s almost unfair to him.”

On why the match against The Undertaker was so hard for him: “For me, what made it so hard was how heavy it was. You know, if I wrestled The Undertaker 20 years ago at the beginning or the middle of his career, probably not. But the positioning I found myself in, it just felt really heavy and so much more emotional than I was ready for it to be, so I think that was the hardest thing … but, you know, the coolest thing because I think that just shows the gravity of the situation, the responsibility of the placement [on the card] and just who I was sharing the ring with. And that’s just how special he is.

“I just feel like maybe I wasn’t good enough or maybe it could have been better on my behalf, but I always hold The Undertaker in so high in that regard that I just feel like maybe I could have done better. But I enjoyed it. I really learned a huge amount in the ring with him; you know, to being in the ring with him for one singles match and to have it be at that level, to be able to pick something up in just 30-40 minutes from another performer — it just goes to show how good he is.”

CNN Sport recently profiled USA Rugby star Todd Clever regarding his interest in transitioning to a career in sports entertainment via WWE.

During the feature, Clever spoke about getting contacted by WWE in February to be invited to their WWE Tryout Camp. He also spoke about spending a week at the world-class WWE Performance Center training facility in Orlando, Florida.

“It was pretty much an intro,” said Clever. “I had a tour of the facility, a meeting with some of the guys and they asked me: ‘Do you just wanna watch; how do you want to do this?’ I was keen to get stuck in. I flew across the country so I wanted to work out. I did some strength and conditioning sessions with one of the smaller groups of athletes and later that day I jumped in the ring.”

Clever continued, “So I was in the ring for a few days and, doing some tumbling, some rolling, some wrestling. It was good,” Clever said. “For warm-ups there’s a big stretch, but you’re doing cartwheels and somersaults and while I was doing it I thought: ‘I wasn’t really expecting this.’ I don’t think I’ve done a somersault since I was five years old! It was interesting — they definitely weed out the athleticism in you. So I just got in amongst it and I surprisingly did a lot better than I thought I would.”

Clever noted that while no deal has been signed as of yet, he is still interested. Check out the complete feature at CNN.com.

MONTEVIDEO/WASHINGTON – The suspicion that Bolivian President Evo Morales’ jet was carrying Edward Snowden, the former intelligence contractor who has become Washington´s public enemy number one, triggered an unprecedented international incident.

Four European countries – France, Italy, Spain and Portugal – denied Morales’ presidential jet permission to fly through their airspace on his way back from Moscow to La Paz.

Snowden, the former technical contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA) who released dozens of top secret documents proving that the U.S. government has been tapping global internet and phone systems on a massive scale, is in hiding in the Moscow airport.

“What this ultimately underscores is how seriously the U.S. regards this case.”

Morales’ aircraft was rerouted and forced to land in Austria, where it was stuck on the tarmac for 14 hours. The governments implicated in the incident brandished technical explanations, and after hours of heated negotiations, the presidential jet was allowed to take off again.

While it was grounded, the plane and its passengers were apparently subjected to some kind of inspection, the scope of which is not yet clear. But afterwards, Austria’s foreign minister, Michael Spindelegger, stated that there were only Bolivian citizens in the aircraft.

The incident violates international law, because aircraft carrying national leaders have diplomatic immunity. Bolivian diplomats complained at the United Nations that Morales had been “kidnapped” during the time he was grounded in Austria. And the indignation spread to other South American governments.

An extraordinary meeting of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) has been convened for Thursday in the Bolivian city of Cochabamba to discuss the issue.
Morales, who along with other presidents from the region was in Russia for an oil and gas conference, had expressed sympathy for Snowden’s plight. The whistleblower has been desperately seeking asylum in different countries since his passport was revoked and he was charged with espionage. In the last few days Snowden has applied for asylum in 21 countries. But as of yet he hasn’t received a response from any government.

Washington has not tried to conceal its efforts to block any attempt to offer asylum to the 30-year-old former employee of defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton.

But U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki largely evaded questions as to whether communications between the U.S. and the European countries which denied the airspace had led to the rerouting of Morales’ presidential jet. “Ask them,” she said.

She was only willing to acknowledge that U.S. officials had been in touch with “a broad range of countries” in recent days with regard to Snowden.

It is clear that some of those contacts bore fruit. After receiving a phone call from U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa said that neither he nor officials in Quito had given authorisation for travel documents that the consul in London issued to Snowden.

The consul in question is in the Ecuadorean embassy in Britain, where Julian Assange, the founder of the WikiLeaks whistleblower website, has been living since June 2012. Assange was granted asylum by Ecuador in August 2012.

“While we still do not know what role the U.S. played (in rerouting the plane), it is hard to believe the U.S. did not exert pressure to ensure Snowden was not on the plane, as they apparently suspected,” Coletta Younger, senior fellow at the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), told IPS.

“It was a huge tactical blunder and a breach of diplomatic protocol (by whoever decided to deny the airspace). But it sent a strong message that whoever takes Snowden in will face serious repercussions from the U.S.,” she added.

“I think this could backfire. The Latin Americans are so outraged that it could facilitate the decision to take Snowden in,” Younger said.

Michael Shifter, president of the Washington-based Inter-American Dialogue think tank, said “It seems either the U.S. had something to do (with the decision to deny the airspace) or it was done out of a sense of solidarity with the U.S.

It is possible they made the decision alone based on a recognition of how serious this issue is to the U.S.”

Shifter said that normally such a drastic step would indicate a state of war. He described it as “An extreme overreaction…Whatever one thinks about Snowden or Morales, it seems like this was disrespectful of international law.”

He also said the incident “looks terrible in political terms.“It was out of proportion. It reflects a patronising, paternalistic mindset that stronger countries can bully weaker ones.”

But he disagreed with Younger that it would facilitate a Latin American refuge for Snowden. “What this ultimately underscores is how seriously the U.S. regards this case,” he said.

“It may be tempting to take Snowden in in order to needle the U.S., but the consequences of that will have to be taken into consideration. The U.S., for all its weaknesses, is still the U.S.,” he said.

Republican presidential nominee Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpSenate advances public lands bill in late-night vote Warren, Democrats urge Trump to back down from veto threat over changing Confederate-named bases Esper orders ‘After Action Review’ of National Guard’s role in protests MORE received widespread condemnation for his refusal to prematurely accept the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Trump told moderator Chris Wallace at last Wednesday night’s final debate that he “Will look at it at the time. … I’ll keep you in suspense.”ADVERTISEMENT

Democratic nominee Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonWhite House accuses Biden of pushing ‘conspiracy theories’ with Trump election claim Biden courts younger voters — who have been a weakness Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton qualifies to run for county commissioner in Florida MORE warned Trump was “talking down our democracy” while The New York Times called it a blatant “contempt for democracy” and many others were infuriated that a presidential candidate would have the gall to publicly pronounce a distrust of government.

In fact, these divine notions of American governance couldn’t be further from the truth.

America’s Founding Fathers predicated the Constitution on the notion that citizens not trust its government and distrust of government is fundamentally enshrined in America’s governmental institutions and traditions — government being a necessary evil that needs to be suspect, supervised, curtailed and restrained.

As abolitionist writer Wendell Phillips once wrote, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty,” and Trump’s response was strategically brilliant as it was patriotic — let me explain why.

This election is a vote on globalism versus nationalism; a corporate oligarchy versus the will of the people or, simply put, the anti-establishment versus the establishment.

Like him or loath him, Trump is the anti-establishment candidate rising up against a decaying, corrupt elite — embodied in Hillary Clinton. Trump is taking on both the Democratic as well as the Republican Party establishment which he has all but usurped. Trumps revolutionary proposals include a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress as well as what he calls “draining the swamp” of lobbyists in Washington DC.

With a Trump presidency, a lot of insider’s livelihoods are at stake.

Rigged

Throughout his campaign Trump has asserted that the system was rigged — meaning one side acquiring an unfair advantage over another.

During the GOP primaries Trump asserted the process was rigged and he was right — in some states the Republican nominating rules are designed to ignore the will of the voters and to promote certain candidates.

Trump also said the Democratic primaries were rigged against Bernie SandersBernie SandersThe Hill’s 12:30 Report: Milley apologizes for church photo-op Harris grapples with defund the police movement amid veep talk Biden courts younger voters — who have been a weakness MORE and we know they were. Not only were the super delegates stacked against Sanders, Democratic National Committee leaked emails confirmed the party establishment were actively working to promote and elect Clinton, leading to the resignation of former DNC chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Media

Central to Trump’s indignation and accusations is the “dishonest” media.

Any serious objective analysis of this election cycle can only conclude the mainstream media are almost universally biased against Trump and pro Clinton. The media, both left and right, continue to hound, misrepresent and criticise his every move yet blatantly shield his opponent from her scandal riddled campaign.

When Trump’s “Access Hollywood” tape was leaked on the same day as the explosive Wikileaks email dumps exposing Clinton boasting to Wall Street banks that she had one set of policy views in public and another in private, the mainstream media networks treated the speech as an afterthought and proclaimed the Trump tape as the final nail in his campaign’s coffin.

In fact, from the Friday to the Monday of the weekend in question ABC, CBS and NBC gave 198 minutes of coverage to the tape and 13 minutes to the WikiLeaks emails in what historian and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said “is the largest example of total one-sided bias in the history of the American media.”

It is no surprise then that 96% of disclosed donations from working journalists have gone to Hillary Clinton.

General Election Campaign

Recent undercover reports from Project Veritas appeared to catch DNC operatives on tape admitting to facilitating voter fraud and infiltrating Trump rallies to incite violence from his supporters.

This bombshell gained little or no traction on mainstream media until Trump himself referenced the tapes as yet another example of the campaign being rigged against him.

Clinton Scandals

Trump has argued Clinton should be precluded from office because of her alleged crimes as Secretary of State. He accused Clinton of lying to Congress, lying to the FBI, conducting quid pro quo deals, destroying emails after they were demanded by a federal subpoena, and her overall handling of classified emails.

The fact of the matter is many people have been imprisoned for far less and as former prosecutor Judge Jeanine Pirro said, “There are two systems of justice in America, one for everyday Americans — and one for Hillary Rodham Clinton.”

So Trump has been proven right in almost all his claims thus far, what then for voter fraud and/or voter rigging?

Voter Fraud

The common misconception is that systematic voter fraud on a mass scale would be necessary to influence an election and thus impossible to pull off. However because of America’s unique election process this is not the case; all it takes is a tiny percentage of votes in certain swing states to be tipped in the balance of either candidate to win the White House.

While Trumps detractors project an image of American elections as being inviolable, history tells us otherwise:

In 1960, there were several reported cases of voter fraud in Texas where John F. Kennedy’s running mate Lyndon B. Johnson was Senator, and in Illinois, home of Mayor Richard Daley’s powerful Chicago political machine. Had Nixon carried both these states he would have earned 270 electoral votes, one more than the 269 needed to take the majority and the presidency. Republicans tried and failed to overturn the results — as well as in nine other states voter fraud was found in.

Democrats continue to claim that the 2000 election had been “stolen” from Al GoreAlbert (Al) Arnold GoreCNN coronavirus town hall to feature science author David Quammen, ‘Empire’ actress Taraji Henson Top Democratic pollster advised Biden campaign to pick Warren as VP Melania Trump to appear on CNN coronavirus town hall Thursday night MORE by the Supreme Court and that George W. Bush was an illegitimate president. Hillary Clinton herself has pointed out that Bush had been “selected,” not “elected.”

In the 2004 election there was widespread charges of voter suppression and Democratic nominee John KerryJohn Forbes KerryThe Memo: Trump’s troubles deepen as voters see country on wrong path The continuous whipsawing of climate change policy Budowsky: United Democrats and Biden’s New Deal MORE believed proxies for Bush had rigged many voting machines in Ohio, and that he may in fact have won the election.

As part of the Podesta WikiLeaks email dumps, Clinton campaign chair John Podesta reported internally in 2015 that Clinton operatives believed that “the Obama forces flooded the caucuses with ineligible voters” to win the primary.

Approximately 24 million — one of every eight — voter registrations in the United States are no longer valid or are significantly inaccurate. More than 1.8 million deceased individuals are listed as voters and approximately 2.75 million people have registrations in more than one state.

While this does not necessarily translate into actual votes, the behavior of the DNC throughout this campaign suggests they will go to great lengths to get their candidate elected — there are already instances of Democrats re-registering deceased people to vote.

And more than 14 percent of non-citizens in 2008 and 2010 surveys said that they were registered to vote.

With Trumps hard stance on illegal immigration, these voters will likely not be voting for the GOP nominee. In fact in one Podesta email, the campaign chairman says “if you show up on Election Day with a driver’s license with a picture, attest that you are a citizen, you have a right to vote in Federal elections.”

And with electronic voting vulnerable to all types of hacking there really are major doubts about the trustworthiness of the votes.

What do we expect?

In the very same debate Hillary Clinton accused Russia of hacking and rigging the election, it was Trump who was cornered by the moderator in a “gotcha” type question.

Trump, to his credit, stood firm in his beliefs and the media’s frenzied reaction to condemn him only served to underline and highlight the issue with election fraud now a central issue of this campaign as every polling station is set to come under intense scrutiny by vigilant citizens — all because Trump turned negative media coverage into a shrewd advantage.

Trump’s rhetoric is not anti-democratic, it is in fact quite the opposite — dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

The Miz recently spoke with TV Insider to promote his new Miz & Mrs. show. Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On upcoming Miz & Mrs show: “You learn over the years for these shows that you need good characters. Little did I know that the most amazing characters are the characters of my life, which are Maryse, her mother, my mom, my dad, my family, my friends. As much as I’d love to call [Miz & Mrs.] a reality show, it’s really not. It’s documenting first-time parents in the entertainment industry and the things you have to go through. There are funny moments because, honestly, this is a 30-minute comedy where you are going to be able to relate to it whether you have kids or not.”

On being part of two teams: “I’m part of a team. I’m part of a team at home with Maryse and Monroe. I’m part of a team with WWE. And if one of those pieces goes away, that messes up the team comradery. I didn’t want to do that to Maryse or WWE. Luckily, I have a beautiful wife who is so understanding and has been in the business. WWE has been accommodating to me that they are like, ‘Listen, you can come whenever you need to come or whenever you need to be there. We’ll give you whatever you need.’ They’ve been very helpful. My wife is one of the most hard-working women I’ve met in my entire life. She is an absolutely incredible mother. I knew she would be, but you just don’t know until it happens and see it firsthand. She has this motherly instinct.”

On leaving his daughter for work: “You literally have to pry her from my arms. Every time I leave it’s just so heartbreaking. It’s funny; all my friends were like, ‘When you have a kid, it changes you.’ I was always the guy who said, ‘No it won’t.’ Now I understand and get it. This little girl from when I first met her stole my heart. She opened up a whole new area of my heart that I didn’t even know I had. There was this love you have for your son or daughter that is indescribable. You can’t describe it until it happens. I now understand and get it.”

  • Details On Plans For Ronda Rousey’s Next Feud After Stephanie McMahon

— The reason for WWE going back-and-forth with the Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble is simply due to “creative plans” changing. There was a rumor that it was because of comments that Rusev made publicly about Undertaker being old but this is apparently not the case at all.

— Apollo Crews is back to using his full name, likely due to the fact that the original reason for the change – because Vince McMahon didn’t want him to be associated with the Parkland, FL shooter Nikolas Cruz – is no longer in the news and thus not an issue.
