World Wrestling Entertainment issued the following press release Friday announcing that Vince McMahon has extended an invitation to First Lady Michelle Obama to visit the company’s corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut while she is in town this Monday.

WWE® Invites First Lady Michelle Obama to Visit Headquarters

STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with some more commentary on the Undertaker – Brock Lesnar confrontation that took place Saturday night after UFC 121. Ross wrote:

“The post fight interview the Undertaker did wasn’t even scheduled beforehand as I understand it. The same reporter interviewed me at the last Lesnar fight and that one, along with interviews he did with Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg, were not scheduled in advance either. I have a hard time believing that the much talked about ‘confrontation’ for the lack of a better term, and there has to be one, between ‘Taker and Brock was staged. Perhaps I’m naive but that’s what I think at this time.”

“Cutting to the chase, I certainly don’t foresee a Wrestlemania 27 match between Lesnar and Undertaker in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome even though the speculation on this matter is running rampant. First of all, Brock has moved on to UFC, a legit sport, and, even though he lost the UFC Heavyweight Title to a very talented, young man in Cain Velásquez Saturday night, Lesnar has many lucrative years remaining in his UFC career that he would be foolish to not pursue. WWE, an entertainment entity, could offer Lesnar massive money for a one time return to the marquis event of the year, BTW Lesnar isn’t going back on the road with any regularity for any amount of money, but there is one, small detail that many have neglected to consider.”

“Brock Lesnar is contractually obligated to UFC and there is no way in hell that UFC officials are ever….ever going to allow Lesnar to return to the WWE world while Brock is still under. So the ‘Oliver Stone’s’ with their conspiracy theories will likely surmise that perhaps Brock has a ‘loop hole’ in his contract that would allow him to return to WWE, pick up a huge payday and then be back home in Minnesota before breakfast the morning after Wrestlemania in Atlanta.”

Shawn Michaels returned to the road last week promoting ticket sales for WrestleMania XXVII in Atlanta, Georgia. Both he and Triple H made numerous public appearances throughout the city, with HBK addressing his current WWE status in interviews. Michaels said he was happy with his career and that he went out on top. He was asked to help promote the event since most of the top WWE stars were overseas touring.

Company officials want to continue utilizing Michaels as they are hopeful he returns at the event to appear as a special guest referee for a match involving The Undertaker. Creative has a storyline in mind where Michaels would have the opportunity to gain revenge on The Deadman by ending his undefeated streak at WrestleMania. However, said plans are extremely tentative due to the SmackDown star recently undergoing shoulder surgery. It’s said to be touch-and-go on whether he’ll be healthy enough to compete in a singles match at the event.

Creative has a worst-case scenario in place which would involve him teaming with Kane in a multi-man tag team match against The Nexus where he could be protected.

Eve Torres spoke with the Miami Herald at this week’s WrestleMania XXVIII press conference and commented on being the WWE Divas Champion again. She feels her current reign will mean more than her first.

“It’s kind of like the first time you really don’t know how much it means to you, until you lose it,” Torres said.

“When it is the first time, you almost don’t know how to make the most out of it and to truly fight for it. I think any time you get the chance to represent the title and to earn the title, you learn how to represent it in the best way.

“You learn how to wear it with honor, fight for it with honor and really become the face of WWE for the divas. It’s an amazing opportunity. You have to be ready for those opportunities when they come. Otherwise what is the point of having those opportunities? I have mine and plan on making it last. I plan on getting the most out of it.”

Torres is grateful for the opportunity WWE has given her. She takes her position atop the women’s division very seriously.

“All of the divas are given opportunities,” Torres said. “It’s kind of the way you go after them and what you do with them. I feel like I was able to seize the opportunity I was given, and now I am divas champion.

“You are representing the entire company. I think it shows the company has faith in you, and we have faith in ourselves.”

Torres’ background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has helped her stand out among the organization’s other female talent. She trains on her time off.

“Jiu-jitsu is something I absolutely love,” Torres said. “I never planned on going into MMA or anything like that. I literally do it for fun and for my own self defense. I think it’s important for women to learn that. I think it’s very empowering and has helped with my confidence inside and outside the ring. I think that is why it’s so meaningful for me.”
