“Mean” Gene Okerlund revealed on twitter that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has been hospitalized after taking a fall.

Okerlund wrote:

– As noted, online show WWE Game Night resumed filming on Monday. WWE confirmed during today’s earnings call that Game Night and the Superstar Ink tattoo show will be returning soon.

– WWE announced 1.469 million WWE Network subscribers the day after WrestleMania 32 with 1.357 million of those being paid subscribers. They announced a total of 1.824 million subscribers in today’s first quarter 2016 earnings report with 1.454 million of those being paid subscribers. This shows an increase of 355,000 subscribers from March 31st to April 4th.

– Vince McMahon confirmed on today’s call that Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, John Cena and Seth Rollins will all be back in action in the next month or so. Vince also touted 13 new talents coming to the main roster and said in the next 30 days they will have more talents on the roster than they have ever had before. In regards to speculation that Cody Rhodes asking for his WWE release may be part of a storyline, PWInsider reports that people who have spoken to Cody say he absolutely has decided he wants out of the company after 10 years. Word is that Cody has given his departure a lot of thought.

As of today, Cody is still under contract to WWE. I heard from another source that said WWE was planning on letting Cody’s contract run out, possibly this summer, but he asked to be let go before it expires.

We noted earlier in the week that Cody and brother Goldust left Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings before the began. PWInsider adds that there are no issues between WWE and Goldust right now.

– WWE officials really wanted top international wrestler Will Ospreay for the WWE Cruiserweight Classic that begins later this month but his two-year New Japan Pro Wrestling contract prevented that from happening. There was talk over the past few weeks that WWE was still trying to sign him, possibly trying to work through NJPW to make it happen.

– International wrestlers Big Damo and Noam Dar are expected to join Tommy End and Moose at the September WWE Performance Center tryouts, if they can pass their medicals. Dar is already confirmed for the WWE CWC this summer. WWE continues to get aggressive on talent acquisitions as several WWE NXT talents are expected to be called up for the Brand Extension and officials want experienced wrestlers who they can use on tour as opposed to the original idea of using the WWE Performance Center to take athletes and teach them to be pro wrestlers.

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced matches for this Friday’s Strong event while also announcing an injury.

The company announced this evening that Alex Coughlin has suffered a neck injury and as a result will not be competing in upcoming Strong events.

Coughlin last competed during the Lion’s Break Collision tapings in June.

Matches were also announced for this Friday’s New Japan Strong. In a six-man tag team match, TJP, ACH, and Alex Zayne will face PJ Black, Misterioso, and Blake Christian. This will be the first time ACH has wrestled for NJPW since 2018, working Lion’s Break Project 1.

In a tag team match, Clark Connors and Jordan Clearwater will face Logan Riegel and Barrett Brown..

The two semifinal matches in the NJPW Cup USA tournament will also take place on this card. KENTA will face Jeff Cobb, while David Finlay will face Tama Tonga. The winners of these two matches will face off in the finals on August 21.

– WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns turns 31 years old today while Bo Dallas turns 26 and Alberto Del Rio turns 39.

– WWE has a new poll asking fans who they would like to see John Cena face when he returns – AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, WWE United States Champion Rusev or WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. As of this writing, 47% voted for Styles while 23% went with Reigns. The next closest are Rusev with 11%, Miz with 6% and Owens tied with Ambrose at 4%.
