The Daily Mirror in England recently spoke to Stephanie McMahon about a number of topics in the second part of a two-part interview.
The Undertaker’s retirement: “There will never be another Undertaker… and everyone feels the same whether it’s backstage or out in the arena. I think that everyone that is part of the WWE Universe is a fan of The Undertaker. There will never be anyone [else] like him.”
The Undertaker being like a brother to her: “Yeah. Ha ha. He would say ‘maybe not that little’. He’d say ‘I’m not that old’. I’ve known him for a very long time. He’s almost like a brother to me.”

Working for her father: “Working for my dad is incredibly challenging, in a variety of ways. It can be challenging from a family standpoint, right, because I think sometimes working with family you take certain things for granted, and that can be challenging, as I keep saying! But from an opportunistic standpoint, I would never have had the opportunities that I have been given and afforded if it weren’t for my father. I think you have to work that much harder when you are part of the family to prove yourself and to keep growing, but again those are the best life lessons that you can possibly have. The best part of working together, at least in my family, is this incredible shared passion. We all love what we do. To be able to bring different aspects of that passion literally to the table is a unique proposition and one I would never give up.”

Tommaso Ciampa shocked the world at the end of Takeover last weekend when he turned on his longtime friend and tag team partner Johnny Gargano. After being hit with a kneestrike and thrown through tables, Johnny Gargano was taken away in an ambulance and is currently injured in storyline. However, in actuality, it is Ciampa who is actually injured after being badly hurt during an NXT live event right before the Takeover show in Chicago. He apparently hurt his leg during a tag team match with Gargano against Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe. Fans of NXT who are looking forward to the outcome of the #DIY breakup and a possible Gargano/Ciampa feud may have to wait for a while.
PWInsider is reporting that the injury that Ciampa has received is apparently much worse than originally believed. However, during his ladder match against the Authors of Pain at Takeover, Ciampa apparently suffered a new injury. This one is looking like an injury that could keep him out for a few weeks, and he is heading down to Birmingham, Alabama soon to have surgery. The exact condition of his already injured leg is unknown, as is what he may have injured during his Tag Team Championship match. We should be hearing a report soon revealing how long Tommaso is expected to be out for. Until then, the show may have to continue on without Ciampa or Gargano as a result of the injury.
SPOILERS: Tommaso Ciampa recently appeared at the most recent set of NXT tapings to explain to the Full Sail crowd why he decided to turn on his best friend. He appeared before the crowd on crutches and was using them backstage as well. Ciampa being gone is a shame since NXT fans are just waiting to see what the followup will be to the #DIY breakup angle. Hopefully he will be able to return before their next big Takeover show in Brooklyn this August to set up the first match between himself and Gargano. Sadly though, Ciampa will be going away for a little while, and we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer for the inevitable match.

WWE is highly considering having Vince McMahon of a future “Table for 3” Episode later this year. There has apparently been some talks on having Vince McMahon participate in an future “Table for 3” episode.
WWE Network officials would absolutely love to have Vince McMahon on a future show as it is guaranteed to draw a huge audience and ratings for the show. But as it is in WWE, the ultimate decision is up to Vince and currently it is not known whether he is even seriously considering it.

Naomi Speaks About Her TV Projects

August 2, 2020 | News | No Comments

Current Smackdown Women’s Champion Naomi was interviewed by CBS Local recently and spoke on a variety of topics, including her current and upcoming TV projects. Here are the highlights:
The rumors that she was filming a new TV show:
“What?! I can’t say what it is, but I can tell you it’s for Nickelodeon…I can’t speak on it yet, but it’s definitely a fun show, a kid-friendly show. We went out there and filmed it for four days, and it was a lot of fun. You guys will be seeing that in November, I believe.”

Whether it was a one-time thing or not:
“Yeah. It’s not a reality show or anything like that. I wish I could tell you! I’ve probably already told you too much already! It’s just a one-time thing that we filmed, and we had a blast. It’s actually a kids show. It’s a race like a tournament. You guys will see it later this year.”
The next season of Total Divas:
“Oh, yeah. I just got the info this week. So, I will be back on this season. Thank goodness, because I probably would have blown a gasket if I was off another season. Yes, we are on this season, and we have so much for y’all this season. There are a lot of changes and a lot going on in our lives right now outside of work.”

The Australian state of New South Wales is in the grip of an unprecedented bushfire crisis, with almost fifty fires still out of control on Friday night despite the efforts of 1,200 firefighters and 70 fire-fighting planes.

Two people have been killed and several are missing, with that number expected to rise over the weekend.

The fires cast an ominous orange glow over large areas of eastern New South Wales, with some locals describing the scene as “apocalyptic”.

At one point during the day there were more than 90 fires burning in the state with 57 out of control and 17 considered “emergency level”. There were also two emergency level fires burning in southern Queensland.

Both states have been plagued by severe drought, and while some parts of New South Wales celebrated rain over the weekend, it was not widespread enough to mitigate the damage done by months of historically poor rainfall, making this fire season more dangerous than usual.

New South Wales Rural Fire Service (RFS) commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons told local media that almost 1,200 firefighters and 70 aircraft had been deployed "to save as many people as possible”, with around 92,000 people affected by the fires.

"We are expecting that number (of missing persons) to climb today," Mr Fitzsimmons told reporters on Saturday. "There are really grave concerns that there could be more losses or indeed more fatalities."

At 9pm local time on Friday, the RFS issued a statement saying: “There are 85 fires burning across New South Wales, with 49 yet to be contained. Fifteen fires remain at Emergency Warning, although weather conditions are beginning to ease. Despite this, there are still many hours of difficult firefighting ahead for our crews.”

Earlier, the Service said: “Today has been a difficult and dangerous day. Unfortunately, many people have called for help but due to the size and speed of the fires we couldn’t get to everyone, even by road or helicopter.”

The RFS described the situation as “uncharted territory”.

At least 100 homes were destroyed by the fire and more than 30 people were injured, firefighters confirmed, after the intensity of the blazes made it impossible for emergency crews to reach some victims.

Commissioner Fitzsimmons said parts of the M1 motorway and the New England Highway were closed, and warned other road closures could leave people trapped.

"You’ve got to understand a lot of the access roads in and around many of these fires are more dangerous than staying in a shelter or a safer place in your local community or your property," he told local media.

“The principal message is about sheltering and sheltering in place — it’s simply too dangerous and too late to leave."

Mr Fitzsimmons also said most of the fires were spreading at twice the normal speed.

The worst of the state’s fires stretch from Forster on the state’s mid-north coast right up to Coraki, south-west of Ballina.

The alleged ringleader of a Nigerian gang that kidnapped and killed a British missionary has been arrested after a two month-long manhunt.

The suspect, who is wanted for the murder of Surrey optician Ian Squire and the kidnapping of three other British missionaries, was held by Nigerian security forces in the southern Delta region on Thursday.

Mr Squire, 57, and his three companions were working at a clinic in the town of Enekoragha., from where an armed gang abducted them on October 13 last year.

On the second day of their ordeal, he was shot dead by the gang after trying to cheer his fellow hostages by playing "Amazing Grace" on his acoustic guitar.

In a subsequent exclusive interview with the Daily Telegraph, one of the surviving missionaries, David Donovan, said he believed that the kidnap gang had shot at Mr Squire in a panic after fearing that the noise of the music would give the gang’s location away.

Mr Donovan, a GP from Cambridgeshire, was released after three weeks in captivity, along with his wife Shirley, also 57, and fellow missionary Alanna Carson, from Fife.

The Foreign Office declined to comment on news of the arrest of the ringleader of the gang, who were allegedly part of a criminal cult that worshipped a local warrior-god.

However, local sources in the Delta area told The Telegraph that the operation took place after two of the ringleader’s accomplices were arrested earlier in a Delta village buying food.

Those arrests then led to security forces to the ringleader’s nearby camp, where they surrounded him and forced him to surrender.

The operation came a week after the gang had allegedly killed four soldiers after leading them into an ambush. According to one local newspaper report, the gang also killed an undercover Nigerian agent during the ambush and then beheaded him, leaving his head on display near a village.

Mr Squire, a devout Christian, ran his own Christian eyesight charity, Mission for Vision. He had teamed up four years ago with the Donovan’s charity, New Foundations, which runs a medical and training practice in Enekoragha.

After Mr Squire’s death, locals in Enekoragha held a large mourning parade to protest his death and voice their upset at the closure of the clinic. It reopened again this week.

It’s hard to see this actually happening, but anything seems possible these days under President Donald Trump’s administration in the White House.
The following is a release from Impact Wrestling:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nashville (June 23, 2017) – IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Bobby Lashley made an unprecedented Presidential appeal on Thursday morning.
Via Twitter, Lashley (@fightbobby) asked President Donald Trump to be in his corner for his title defense at Slammiversary on July 2, when Lashley puts the gold on the line against Alberto El Patron.
El Patron earlier this week announced that his father, legendary Mexican wrestler Dos Caras, will be in his corner at Slammiversary.
Lashley asked Trump to join him at Slammiversary, which will be held on pay-per-view and filmed at the backlot of Universal Studios Florida in Orlando.

“Well, it looks like I need to find a cornerman for Slammiversary? @realDonaldTrump?  It won’t be the 1sttime!  #reallegend,” Lashley tweeted.
IMPACT Wrestling is waiting for an answer from Trump.
IMPACT Wrestling is a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp.
