Nine matches have now been officially announced for Extreme Rules.

Via a video announcement from Cathy Kelley, WWE confirmed today that Finn Balor will face Baron Corbin at the July 15 pay-per-view in Pittsburgh. They’ve been feuding over the last few weeks since Corbin began his “Constable of Raw” gimmick.

Corbin pinned Balor while teaming with Kevin Owens against Balor & Braun Strowman on the June 18 episode of Raw. The next week, Balor & Corbin vs. Strowman & Owens ended in a countout as Balor and Corbin wouldn’t stop fighting with each other after Corbin tagged himself in. Corbin then mocked Balor and demanded an apology from him on this Monday’s show.

The segment ended with Balor calling Corbin “Stephanie McMahon’s stooge” and Corbin cheap shotting him before backing off when Balor hit a slingblade and a dropkick.

Here’s the updated card for Extreme Rules:

WWE Champion AJ Styles defending against Rusev
Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss defending against Nia Jax in an extreme rules match
Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley
SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella defending against Asuka
Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler defending against Seth Rollins in a 30-minute Iron Man match
United States Champion Jeff Hardy defending against Shinsuke Nakamura
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) defending against Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane)
Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin
Raw Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt defending against The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)

After announcing she was considering running for president earlier this week, Elizabeth Warren headed to the fridge for a drink. But she did so with a twist – 1.1 million people got the chance to follow along.

“Hold on a sec,” she said, addressing her Instagram followers moments after starting a live broadcast from her kitchen. “I’m going to get me a beer.”

After cracking open a bottle the Democratic senator for Massachusetts introduced her husband, Bruce. “This is my sweetie,” she said as he wondered into shot. “He’s the best”.

As the comments and likes began to flow in from those watching, Ms Warren picked out viewers by name, waving and wishing them happy new year. Then she began to talk…

The sight of Angela Merkel being given a warm welcome in Athens this week will have come as a relief to anyone with a stake in European stability.

It was a far cry from the days of the Euro crisis, when protesters built a gallows outside the Greek parliament with a sign that read “Reserved for Merkel”, and the Greek newspapers printed mock-ups of her in SS uniform.

On her last visit to Athens in 2014, protestors gave her the Nazi salute and Alexis Tsipras, then still an opposition leader, told her to go home.

Now Greek prime minister, Mr Tsipras was more welcoming this week. “Today you are coming to a different Greece,” he told Mrs Merkel. “We are no longer part of the problem, but part of the…

Animal experts were left perplexed after the carcass of a juvenile Humpback whale was discovered inland, in a remote mangrove swamp near the mouth of the Amazon river.

The animal, measuring 36ft (11 metres), was hidden in the undergrowth a short distance from the shoreline in the forest of the northern Brazilian state of Para. It took two separate attempts by workers from the department of health, sanitation and environment (Semma) to reach the whale, which was only discovered because of the scavenging birds circling overhead.

Conservationists from the Bicho d’Agua Institute, who were also present, believe the humpback whale to be a 12 month-old calf that got separated from its mother, before being launched ashore by high tides during a storm.

Conservationists say it highly unusual for a humpback to be on the north coast of Brazil, let alone in the spot where it was found

Renata Emin PhD, the project leader from the institute, said: "Along with this astonishing feat, we are baffled as to what a humpback whale is doing on the north coast of Brazil during February because this is a very unusual occurrence."

With no discernible wounds, tissue samples from the whale are being tested to determine how it died, but some details regarding its short life and mysterious death may have been lost to several days of decomposition and scavenging.

The Maritime Herald speculated it was possible that the humpback may have swum towards the beach in search of food and been suffocated after inhaling large amounts of plastic.

Brazil’s environmental agency told reporters that the whale would be left in the forest since there is no way that bulldozers would be able to reach the site. The skeleton will, however, be taken apart and sent to a natural history museum in the nearby city of Belem.

SmackDown Live will feature a match between former Women’s Champion Carmella and Sonya Deville after Deville attacked the Staten Island princess’ wrestling ability and inclusion in the No. 1 contender match last week against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Deville said she couldn’t believe she lost out on a title opportunity to someone who only worries about Dance Breaks. Of course, Carmella did not put up with that. Here’s a look at the two getting into it with each other which set up the match on Tuesday:

Great Britain’s World of Sport Wrestling, which was revived with a ten episode first season last year, announced they have acquired TV distributrion in India on DSport, across Africa with Star Times, in Poland with Fightklub and would soon announce distribution in the United States.
World of Sport was a sports anthology series that ran for 20 years on ITV and regularly featured pro wrestling personalities and matches from Europe.  When the decision was made in 1985 to cancel the series, it crippled homegrown pro wrestling in that region for many years, setting the stage for the then-WWF’s already growing popularity in the region to flourish just a few years later.
Several years, WWE opened communications with ITV with the idea of purchasing their pro wrestling-related material from the original ITV World of Sport library for their own use, without success.   In 2013, John Chapman licensed and filmed a World of Sport TV pilot that ITV opted not to pick up.  The online attention to that pilot led to WWE reaching out to ITV in 2014 to open communications about purchasing the library.  The acquisition never went down, but those two events may have started the process of ITV opting to launch their own pilot taping earlier this year.
ITV Commissioned a pilot, which aired on New Year’s Eve 2016, featuring Grado, Viper, Dave Mastiff, Mark and Joe Coffey,  Kenny Williams, El Ligero, and Zack Gibson among others. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was brought in as lead announcer and worked as a producer for the pilot.   The pilot airing did well, leading to a March 2017 announcement that ITV was bringing back World of Sport for a ten episode first season. with Tom McLennan and Simon Marsh announced as Executive Producers.
Impact Wrestling got involved with the project as this point with Jeff Jarrett, then-the Chief Creative Officer of the company, effectively replacing Jim Ross.  Tapings were announced for May 2017 at Preston Guild Hall and went on sale.  The plan was for the series to debut in July 2017 on ITV with Impact parent company Anthem attempting to syndicate the series in other countries, but it was not to be.   The tapings were canceled just a few weeks before they were set to take place with the idea that the project was being postponed, although the feeling among talents who were contracted for the series was that the project was dead.  Impact sources at the time claimed there were logistical issues with the tapings, although stories that were floated by wrestlers who were contracted instead placed the blame at least partially on Jarrett pushing for the network to drop the idea of a 10 episode series, instead running a traditional, ongoing series.
The announcement of plans for the original tapings led to World Wrestling Entertainment rushing forward with plans for their own UK brand, currently known as the NXT UK, placing a number of talents under contract.  After holding several events to crown their first champion, WWE utilized the NXT brand to showcase the UK talents while seeking a potential TV deal with a number of UK broadcasters under the “King of the Ring” title, including, as PWInsider.com has previously reported, ITV.   In the end, WWE would not end up on British TV, instead launching the series on their own WWE Network streaming series.
ITV registered trademarks for for WOS Wrestling, WOS, World of Sport as well as the Classic World of Sport logo in Great Britain as well as the trademark for WOS Wrestling in the United States.  The trademarks were originally registered in 2012 by John Chapman’s company as ITV did not originally own the rights when Chapman filmed his pilot.  After ITV declined the air the pilot in 2013, they opted to purchase the trademarks from Chapman.
World of Sport Wrestling’s live tour kicks off this weekend with the following announced:
Friday 1/18 at the O2 Guildhall in Southampton:
*WOSW Champion Justin Sysum & Robbie X vs. Alpha Bad.
*WOSW Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray vs. Bea Priestley vs. Viper.

*Grado vs. Martin Kirby.
*Sha Samuels and CJ Banks vs. Joe Hendry and BT Gunn.

*WSOW Champion Justin Sysum vs. Rampage.
*Will Ospreay vs. Martin Kirby
*Nathan Cruz vs. Adam ‘Flex’ Maxted.

There are also live dates announced for Friday 1/25 in Stoke at Victoria Hall, 1/26 in Blackpool at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Saturday 2/2 in Northampton at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton and 2/3 at York Hall in London.
While the live tour is scheduled for this month, there has been no word on a second season and a number of talents are expected to move on elsewhere when their deals expire.
