Alors qu’il effectuera sa rentrée sur Europe 1 ce lundi, Jean-Michel Aphatie semble déjà en forme. Dans un entretien accordé à l’AFP samedi, le journaliste a – une nouvelle fois – vivement critiqué les méthodes utilisées par Mediapart.

Ce n’est pas un secret : Jean-Michel Aphatie a du mal avec Mediapart. Depuis plusieurs années, l’ancien journaliste politique du Grand Journalde Canal + fustige régulièrement sur les réseaux sociaux les méthodes utilisées par ses confrères dans leurs investigations. Interrogé par l’AFP ce samedi, le chroniqueur s’est largement confié sur le sujet. Sans langue de bois. «Aujourd’hui en France, on a trop de complaisance envers ce journalisme voyou. Comme on trouve que ceux qui nous gouvernent sont nuls, on peut tout contre eux : les écouter, les espionner, les voler. C’est consternant. Le journaliste n’est ni un justicier, ni un juge d’instruction» explique dans un premier temps Jean-Michel Aphatie.

Dans le viseur de l’ancien animateur de RTL : l’affaire Cahuzac. «L’enquête de Mediapart est à citer en contre-exemple dans les écoles de journalisme. Le journaliste d’aujourd’hui cache ses caméras, s’affranchit de toutes règles, ce que même la police ne fait pas. Il planque, et hop, tout est public. Est-ce que tout est bon au nom de l’information? Peut-on espionner, cambrioler, cacher un micro sous une table?» s’énerve ce dernier. Avant d’ajouter. «Pourquoi devait-on croire Mediapart? Le journalisme, c’est de prouver ce qu’on avance, ce qu’ils ne faisaient pas. On a demandé à Cahuzac de prouver qu’il était innocent, comme dans les sociétés totalitaires. Mediapart a demandé au procureur d’ouvrir une enquête, comme si les journalistes étaient des auxiliaires de justice, et c’est sur la base de cette enquête que Cahuzac a avoué» analyse enfin Aphatie, qui affirme par ailleurs ne pas défendre le cas de Jérôme Cahuzac.

Suite à cette sortie virulente, Edwy Plenel, le fondateur de Mediapart, s’est fendu d’un tweet dénonçant le comportement de son détracteur. «Servitude de Jean-Michel Aphatie qui se dit anti-Mediapart en rejoignant Lagardère et Europe 1 qui défendaient Cahuzac”. Message auquel n’a pas tardé à répondre le nouveau journaliste de la tranche 12–14h sur Europe 1. «Servitude de rien et de personne… Assez grand pour penser tout seul». Ambiance.

Fast & Furious 6 reste numéro 1 mais enregistre une baisse sévère de 65% de ses recettes (cumul de 170 millions de $ à ce jour).

Le nouveau film de SF de M. Night Shyamalan After Earth, effectue un démarrage décevant : malgré la présence de Will Smith au casting, il déboule à la troisième place avec 27 millions de dollars de recettes. Il est devancé par Insaisissables, le thriller de Louis Leterrier, numéro 2 avec 28,5 millions de dollars de recettes, malgré une combinaison de salles plus réduite (2900 contre 3400 environ). Il faut dire que cette histoire de magiciens-braqueurs réunit un casting de haute volée, comprenant Morgan Freeman, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine ou encore Mélanie Laurent.

Suite au tremblement de terre qui a frappé Haïti en 2010, Chelsea Clinton avait dénoncé la désorganisation des Nations Unies chargées de l’assistance humanitaire sur l’île.

Chealsea Clinton avait dénoncé en 2010 l’incompétence de l’aide internationale après le séisme qui avait touché Haïti, dans un rapport accablant envoyé à ses parents. A l’époque, Bill Clinton était alors émissaire de l’ONU pour l’île et son épouse, Hillary, la secrétaire d’État américaine.

Près de 4300 courriels professionnels d’Hillary Clinton écrits au sein du département d’État dont elle fut la dirigeante de 2009 à 2013 ont été rendus publics cette semaine. L’un d’eux, exhumé par le magazine Politico, contient un rapport adressé à « Papa, Maman », rédigé par Chelsea Clinton, après sa visite à Haïti en février 2010.

Dans ce texte, la jeune femme de 35 ans se dit « profondément troublée » par « l’incompétence affligeante » et la « désorganisation » des agences des Nations unies et des ONG chargées de l’assistance humanitaire à Haïti après le drame qui a causé la mort de 200 000 personnes et fait 1,5 million de sans-abris.

“Les personnes de l’ONU que j’ai rencontrées étaient le plus souvent décalées par rapport à la réalité, au mieux anachroniques dans leur mentalité, au pire arrogantes et incompétentes”, écrit Chelsea Clinton à ses parents.

Elle poursuit en révélant qu’il”n’y a AUCUNE responsabilité au sein de l’ONU ou du système humanitaire international.” La fille des Clinton, qui fait partie de la direction de la fondation caritative Clinton Foundation à visée humanitaire, philanthropique et écologique, craignait que la mauvaise organisation des ONG sur le terrain conduisent « aux décès de dizaines de milliers de décès d’enfants en raison de diarrhées, dysenteries, typhoïdes. » Elle somma son père de réagir rapidement. “Le Bureau de l’Envoyé spécial (pour Haïti) – c’est à dire toi Papa – doit avoir l’autorité sur les Nations unies et leur myriade d’agences, ce qui, je crois, te donnerait l’autorité adéquate sur la plupart des ONG internationales”, rappelait-elle à l’ancien Président des Etats-Unis avant de conclure que « l’ONU semblait au mieux chaotique et au pire absent ».

C’était l’événement sportif de ce samedi soir : l’affiche entre l’Angleterre et le Pays de Galles à Twickenham dans le cadre des phases de poules de la Coupe du monde de rugby. Mais le choc avait également lieu en tribunes entre le prince William et son frère Harry.

C’est le genre de rencontre qui reste dans les mémoires. Samedi soir, la Coupe du monde de rugby a offert au public une affiche de gala entre l’Angleterre et le Pays de Galles. Un duel fratricide également en tribunes. Et pour cause, le prince William et le prince Harry avaient fait le déplacement pour ce choc des titans.Histoire de rajouter un peu de piment à la fête, le duc de Cambridge arborait les couleurs du XV du Poireau tandis que son frère cadet soutenait la patrie de sa majesté.

Dans l’antre sacrée du rugby anglais de Twickenham, cette rencontre des phases de poules de la compétition a été le théâtre d’un spectacle exceptionnel. En tête pendant quasiment toute la partie et porté par une ambiance incroyable, le XV de la Rose a finalement cédé dans les dernières minutes sur un essai du demi de mêlée Davies et une pénalité de l’intenable Biggar. Les Anglais ont pourtant eu la dernière cartouche dans ce match mais se sont finalement heurtés au cœur gallois.

À l’arrivée, le Pays de Galles s’impose 28–25 sur le terrain de son ennemi juré. Souriant pendant tout le match, Harry n’a pas masqué sa déception alors que dans le même temps, le duc de Cambridge célébrait la victoire avec son épouse Kate, elle aussi présente pour l’occasion. Une soirée festive entre adultes sans baby Georges et la princesse Charlotte.

Patrick Pelloux, urgentiste et ancien membre de la rédaction de Charlie Hebdo, témoigne des scènes de « carnages » sur le terrain, après les attaques terroristes qui ont touché Paris. Et appelle à la solidarité.

En janvier, ce sont ses amis et membres de la rédaction de Charlie Hebdo qui perdaient la vie sous les balles des terroristes. Dix mois plus tard, Patrick Pelloux, urgentiste et ancien collaborateur du journal satirique était ce weekend mobilisé, afin de sauver un maximum de vies après les attaques terroristes de vendredi 13 novembre.

À L’Express, il témoigne de l’horreur vécue par ses pairs sur le terrain. “Tous les collègues qui sont partis sur place en sont revenus changés, très marqués”, explique-t-il. “C’est affreux. Nous sommes face à un carnage et des blessures de guerre. Ils ont tué des innocents.”

Des scènes de “guerre”, un “carnage”, bien loin des préoccupations habituelles du personnel hospitalier de la capitale. Selon le témoignage de Patrick Pelloux à France Info, si les chirurgiens français “sont les meilleurs” pour soigner les blessures de guerre, “le problème qu’on a, renchérit-il, c’est qu’on est un peuple de paix, qui n’est pas préparé à ce genre de situation, qui ne connaissait plus la guerre, et que nous sommes en guerre.”

« Mais on ne doit pas avoir peur, on doit être solidaire, on reste ensemble et on se prépare à nouveau au pire », a rajouté l’urgentiste, toujours au micro de France Info. À L’Express, Patrick Pelloux se place en fer de lance du mouvement d’unité et de solidarité nationale. “Chacun dans sa fonction doit agir et avancer. J’appelle à un sursaut national. Tout le monde doit se lever.”

As the presenting sponsor, MLB proudly stands alongside members of the 2020 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) as they embark on a nation-wide tour that will hit over 35 cities in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with training and exhibition contests.

With the return of softball to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games program, the “Stand Beside Her” tour provides much-needed training and competition for the 2020 WNT in their preparation for the Olympic Games while also giving fans a chance to watch the Red, White and Blue in person. Olympic competition will start July 22, 2020 with the Gold Medal Game being played on July 28.

This partnership is a continuation of MLB’s support of USA Softball and its commitment to growing the sport at both the grassroots and amateur levels. Since 2015, MLB and USA Softball have partnered together with USA Baseball to launch the “PLAY BALL” initiative (PlayBall.org), the largest collective effort to inspire and encourage participation in both casual and formal varieties of baseball and softball. MLB and USA Softball have jointly hosted a number of PLAY BALL events over the years, notably each year in Oklahoma City.

Members of the 2020 USA Softball WNT are currently in Washington DC for the announcement of the partnership and will continue their promotional tour in New York City on January 24 to visit MLB headquarters in addition to media interviews.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Washington is the preseason favorite as the national semifinalists received seven first-place votes and 755 points to capture the top spot in the 2020 USA Today/NFCA Division I Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll, announced the Association on Tuesday morning.

In a tightly contested poll that saw five teams receive at least one first-place vote, the Huskies (52-9) edged out fellow national semifinalist and No. 2 Alabama (752) by three points. The Crimson Tide (60-10) tallied the most first-place nods with 11. 

It marks the first time Washington has been the preseason No. 1 since 2010 and the highest preseason ranking for Alabama since it was first at the start of the 2013 campaign. Coincidentally, the Huskies and Crimson Tide held the top two spots in the previously-mentioned 2010 poll.

Also earning first-place votes were last year’s runner-up, Oklahoma (57-6) with four, and national champion, UCLA (56-6) with nine, along with Women’s College World Series participant Arizona (48-14) with the final one. The Sooners and Bruins come in at No. 3 and 4 with 729 and 716 points, respectively, while the Wildcats sit a No. 5 with 695 votes.

Texas (46-17) and Florida (49-18) earned the sixth and seventh spots, while Minnesota (46-14), Florida State (55-10) and Louisiana (52-6) round out the top 10. 

The Southeastern Conference led the way with ten ranked programs, while three leagues – Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 – boasted four teams apiece. Three of the Pac-12’s teams were in the top five. The Atlantic Coast Conference, Colonial Athletic Association and Sun Belt Conference each saw a single program among the top 25.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Fourteen of the 2019 Top 50 “Watch List” athletes join 36 other student-athletes on the “Watch List” for the 2020 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Announced today by USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States, the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award enters its 18th season and recognizes outstanding athletic achievement by Division I female collegiate softball players across the country.

Previous recipients of the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, the most prestigious individual honor in NCAA Division I Softball, are UCLA catcher Stacey Nuveman (2002), Texas pitcher Cat Osterman (2003, 2005 and 2006), Florida State pitcher Jessica Van der Linden (2004), Tennessee pitcher Monica Abbott (2007), Virginia Tech pitcher Angela Tincher (2008), Washington pitcher Danielle Lawrie (2009 and 2010), Stanford shortstop Ashley Hansen (2011), Oklahoma’s Keilani Ricketts (2012 and 2013), Florida State’s Lacey Waldrop (2014), Florida’s Lauren Haeger (2015), Michigan’s Sierra Romero (2016), Florida’s Kelly Barnhill (2017) and UCLA’s Rachel Garcia (2018 and 2019). 
 
The preseason “Watch List” includes 28 seniors, 13 juniors and 9 sophomores, with freshman ineligible for consideration. (Freshman can be considered for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award once they have competed at the collegiate level).  Athletes named to the “Watch List” represent 33 NCAA Division I universities and 19 athletic conferences. UCLA leads the way among universities with four athlete representatives, while five universities (Alabama, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington) have three athletes on the “Watch List” apiece. The Pac-12 and Big Ten Conferences are also well-represented with five member-schools, while four universities represent the Southeastern Conference (SEC). 
 
The Top 25 Finalists for the 2020 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award will be announced April 22. While an athlete does not have to be on the “Watch List” to be considered for the Top 25, the eventual USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will come from the Top 25 Finalists. The Top 10 Finalists will be announced May 6 and the Top 3 announced May 20. The 2020 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be revealed May 26. 
 
In addition to bestowing the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, USA Softball is now in its 18th season of presenting the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll which is announced Tuesdays during the regular season. The preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll was released Jan. 28 with Alabama, Washington, Oklahoma, UCLA and Arizona taking the Top 5 spots respectively.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Defending national champion Augustana captured the top billing in the 2020 NFCA Division II Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll, announced by the Association on Wednesday. The Vikings collected 15 of 16 first-place votes and 399 points.

In 2019, Augustana matched a school record with 61 wins and posted a 10-2 mark during its NCAA postseason run. The Vikings knocked off No. 2 Winona State in Regionals and No. 1 Central Oklahoma in Super Regionals, both on the road. Bouncing back from a defeat in game of the Championship Series, Augustana rallied for a pair of 6-4 wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville to come out on top of Division II. 

The national runner-up Javelinas (52-10) earned one-first place vote and 385 points to earn the No. 2 spot. The 2020 Lone Star Conference favorites made their first National Championships appearance and recorded the best campaign in program history in terms of wins, winning percentage and national finish. TAMUK opened NCAA postseason play with nine straight victories, including game one of the Championship Series. 

The Vikings and Javelinas are part of a stacked field at the season-opening Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational, Jan. 31-Feb. 2 at Scrap Yard Sports in Conroe, Texas. Along with the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country, No. 7 Central Oklahoma, t-No. 10 Texas A&M University-Commerce, No. 14 Southern Arkansas, t-No. 21 Tarleton and the 23rd-ranked hosts take part in this three-day tournament.

National Championship participants Grand Valley State, West Florida, Young Harris and UC San Diego make up the No. 3 through 6 spots. The Lakers (51-10) reached the national semifinals in the programs’ fourth NCAA Championships appearance. Grand Valley State won both the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. 

The Argonauts (54-11) had a tremendous 2019 campaign posting the most victories since 2005 and claimed the Gulf South Conference’s regular season and tournament titles. The Mountain Lions (44-20) were a first-time NCAA Championship participant in 2019, knocking off the Southeast’s top seed North Georgia in Regionals and Lincoln Memorial in Super Regionals. No. 6 UC San Diego earned the West Region’s No. 2 seed and the Championships’ No. 6 seed. The Tritons (37-17) won the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s regular season and swept through Regionals and Super Regionals (at No. 1 Concordia Irvine).

Central Oklahoma comes in at No. 7 and the other national championship participant West Chester starts in eighth. The Bronchos (48-8) captured both the Great American Conference’s regular season and tournament titles and were the No. 1 seed in the Central Region. The Rams (40-22) made a late-season push in 2019, winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference regular season and the East Region as the No. 4 seed.

Florida Tech earned the ninth spot, while Texas A&M University-Commerce and Concordia Irvine shared No. 10. The Panthers (42-12) and Eagles (47-8) reached the Super Regionals, while the Lions (40-14) fell in the South Central regional final. 

The Lone Star Conference led the way with four programs – No. 2 TAMUK, t-No. 10 A&M-Commerce, No. 15 Cameron and No. 21 Tarleton State – in the top 25, while the Gulf South – No. 4 West Florida, t-No.18 UAH and No. 24 Valdosta State – earned three nods.
