Impact Wrestling has unveiled the newest member of its Knockouts division.

It was announced this morning that Tasha Steelz has signed with Impact Wrestling. After appearing for Impact in a battle royal last year, Steelz had her second match for the promotion on last night’s Impact. She lost to Kylie Rae.

“I feel great signing with Impact,” Steelz said in an interview with Impact’s website. “I have been working extremely hard for this moment and, in my mind, I’m saying, ‘It’s about damn time!’ I’ve been watching Impact Wrestling for a long time, following everything Impact has been doing over the years and the amazing talent (on the roster). I feel I can bring a different flavor to the Knockouts division.

“The Knockouts division has amazing, talented women with different types of styles, backgrounds, and personalities.”

The NWA and ROH are among the promotions Steelz has wrestled for. She defeated Marti Belle and Ashley Vox in a triple threat match that aired on last night’s NWA Super Power episode.

Steelz was supposed to be an entrant in ROH’s Women’s Championship tournament that was set to begin in April. The show the tournament was scheduled to begin on — along with all ROH events through the end of June — was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Tasha Steelz is a young, ambitious, dedicated, hard-working, competitive, athletic, outspoken tomboy from Newark, N.J., with a lot of swag,” Steelz described herself. “Tasha Steelz is not a gimmick, not a character, She is the Boricua Bad Ass, the Culture Queen, the Brightest Star in the Sky.

“Tasha Steelz is a fighter with a strong attitude and is very protective of the ones closest to me. I like to prove people who doubt me wrong, both in and out of the ring.”

Impact also announced this week that Su Yung and Crazzy Steve have signed multi-year deals with them.

For eight years, it has insulted, entertained, and bemused in a tireless quest to bring Twitter trolling into the diplomatic mainstream.

Now @RussianEmbassy, the official Twitter feed of Russia’s diplomatic mission on Kensingston Palace Gardens that once compared Barack Obama to a duck, could be under threat.

Britain has ordered 23 Russian diplomats to quit the London Embassy by next week as retaliation for the attempted poisoning of Sergei Skripal, a former Russian intelligence officer who spied for the UK.

The British government says all those expelled are spies under diplomatic cover, it is unclear whether their number includes the mysterious author behind @RussianEmbassy.

An Embassy spokesman…

Brian Fritz at The Sporting News has an article today on the TNA production staff being late in pay, saying that production workers are still owed money for the One Night Only PPV tapings from 2/13 to 2/16.

While not stated in the story, although obvious, the same workers had not been paid for the most recent set of tapings either. We have independently confirmed the story is accurate.

The story also stated:

– One production team member was told by the company that the checks were cut on 4/3, but 14 days later, nobody had received them yet.

– Production workers were not paid for the U.K. tour in late January until early this month, and claimed that, on average, the workers were shorted an average of $1,000 on pay for that tour.

There had been similar issues with late payment to the production people last year, which came to a head at a TV taping where things were finally settled.

In addition, Josh Eldridge, TNA’s Content Manager for Digital and Social Media gave his two weeks notice and will be leaving the company for an outside offer.

France’s ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy has dismissed accusations the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi funded his 2007 election campaign as a web of lies that were making his life a “living hell” and had cost him reelection in 2012.

The former leader of the centre-Right Republicans said there was “no physical evidence to prove the claims" that he had received £42 million in illegal funding from the Libyan regime. He was charged on Wednesday after two days of questioning in police custody.

He defended his innocence in a statement to investigating magistrates, a copy of which Le Figaro published in its entirety.

"I stand accused without any tangible evidence through comments made by Mr Gaddafi, his son, his nephew, his cousin, his spokesman, his former prime minister," said Mr Sarkozy.

"I’ve been living the hell of this slander since March 11, 2011," when the allegations first emerged, said the ex-president, who was due to be interviewed live on a prime time news programme on Thursday evening.

Mr Sarkozy, 63, has been placed under what is known as formal investigation in France for passive corruption, illegal electoral campaign funding, and – most damning of all – concealing Libyan public funds.

He gave the Libyan leader a red-carpet reception in Paris in late 2007 but their relations soon soured and Mr Sarkozy put France in the forefront of the NATO-led airstrikes that helped rebel fighters topple the Gaddafi regime in 2011 and led to the dictator’s death.

In his court statement, Mr Sarkozy lashed out at Franco-Lebanese businessman Ziad Takieddine, who claims to have delivered three cash-stuffed suitcases from Libya in 2006 and 2007, when Mr Sarkozy was preparing his first run for president.

Mr Takieddine, after Sarkozy was charged on Wednesday night, said: "I’m not the liar here."

Mr Sarkozy said he had “paid a heavy price for this affair.”

“Put it this way: I lost the presidential election of 2012 by 1.5 percentage points. The controversy initiated by Gaddafi and his henchmen cost me that 1.5 percent," he wrote.

Mr Sarkozy, who was nicknamed the "bling bling president" by many due to his flashy style, is not the first ex-head of state to be charged in France.

His predecessor Jacques Chirac was given a two-year suspended sentence in 2011 for embezzlement and misuse of public funds during his time as mayor of Paris.

Mr Sarkozy is already charged in two separate cases, one relating to overspending on his failed 2012 campaign and another for alleged influence peddling.

A German far-Right activist was arrested in Hungary on Wednesday on suspicion of illegally selling guns over the internet, marketing them as “migrant deterrents”.

Mario Rönsch was held on a European extradition warrant issued by his native Germany. He has been on the run from the German authorities since 2016.

He is accused of running a website called Migrant Deterrent, which sold more than €100,000 (£87,000) worth of unlicensed weapons to customers in countries across Europe under the slogan: “Simple, fast and discreet: that’s the mantra of Migrant Deterrent”.

Although most of the weapons were gas-powered, which meant they were legal in Germany, they were sold without the necessary licenses.

Customers were also supplied with banned lethal ammunition, possession of which is punishable by up to five years in prison.

The website portrayed migrants as potential rapists and marketed the weapons as a “defence against ficki-ficki specialists”, employing a racially pejorative term used to imply that migrant men harass women for sex.

The guns were also advertised as “opinion enhancers against rogue leftists”.

EU wastes migrant aid millions with ‘chaotic and badly managed’ projects

Mr Rönsch is also accused of running a Facebook page and a website on which he published fake news targeting migrants and Muslims under the names Anonynous.Kollectiv and a Anonymousnews.ru.

He is accused of encouraging people to buy weapons for use against migrants in a post in which he wrote: “If you do not want to put up with the fact that your city is a lawless playground for asylum-seekers, if you want to protect your women and keep your pedestrian zones accessible, then act now!”

The 33-year-old was apprehended in a dawn raid in Budapest, where he is believed to have been living and running his websites and business from since 2016, when he disappeared after prosecutors began investigating his activities.

Customers from a dozen European countries are believed to have purchased illegal weapons from his website.

Products offered included “deluxe precision rifles” and “hard rubber bullets that hit the target and make every attacker look old”.

Although the weapons are controlled and in some cases banned in Germany and other Western European countries, they are freely available in Hungary.

Susan Wettley, the lead German prosecutor on the case, described the scale of the arms sales as “frightening” and said the website had sold weapons to “seemingly irreproachable citizens”.

Mr Rönsch will be held in Hungary pending hearings over a possible extradition to Germany.

Vikings lock up 10th straight win over MSU Moorhead on Wednesday night

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Augustana won their 10th consecutive dual against MSU Moorhead with a 25-16 victory on Wednesday night. The Vikings rebounded nicely from a Friday-night loss, winning seven of the 10 bouts to improve to 12-5 on the season, 5-2 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference duals. The Dragons drop to 6-9 on the year with a 3-4 mark in the NSIC.

Augustana opened the dual in control, winning two bouts before the Dragons drew even on a defensive pin. TJ North showed off his new No. 3 national ranking with a 3-0 decision and Morgan Engbrecht handled his opponent easily with a 9-3 victory to put the Vikings up 6-0.

In just his second bout of the season, Jeremiah Peterson was pinned after holding a 4-1 lead late in the first period, tying the match at 6-6. Peterson was on top trying to turn Connor MacGregor to score back points, but MacGregor held off Peterson’s attempt and pinned the Viking 141-pounder at the 2:40 mark.

Quick to answer, Shawn Hatlestad recorded his fastest pin of the season, taking down MSUM’s Garrett Hoffner just 56 seconds into the 149-pound bout. Adding on and falling just short of a major decision, Bradyn Neises pushed the Viking lead to 15-6 with a 9-2 decision at 157 pounds.

Parker Swanson tallied his third major decision of the season, shutting out Shawn Porter 10-0 to give the Vikings their third consecutive bout win and a 19-6 lead. MSU Moorhead responded with a major decision win at 174 pounds, but the Vikings would quickly assume control again.

Sean Derry kept his dual and Division II record spotless with a four-takedown performance, earning a 10-4 decision to give the Vikings a 22-10 lead. Fifth-ranked Jayd Docken secured the Augustana victory with a 5-2 win, surrendering a late second-period takedown but tallying two of his own and adding riding time to expand the Viking lead to 25-10.

The Vikings would leave the 285-pound class open, handing MSU Moorhead six more points, but the victory was achieved by a 25-16 margin.

MSUM will host Mary at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Nemzek Fieldhouse. It will be Senior Day for MSUM with MacGregor and Matt Lewellen being honored that day.

The Vikings close the regular season with a trip to No. 6 Upper Iowa on Sunday, Feb. 16. The season finale dual is set to begin at 2 p.m. in Fayette, Iowa.

Although Matt and Nick Jackson may be one of the most  polarizing teams in the business, one cannot deny the tremendous amount of success that they have both had despite never being officially under contract with WWE. However, it looks like the Bucks are hopeful that they will be able to face the current Smackdown Tag Team Champions at some point. Following a recent conference call in which the Usos praised the Young Bucks, Matt Jackson sent out a tweet stating that he also has respect for the brother and he even teased a possible match between each other in the future.

The feeling is mutual. Would love to wrestle @WWEUsos. https://t.co/oli2wep35w
