TMZ.com caught up with WWE legend The Rock on the streets of New York City on Wednesday and asked him if he’ll be competing at WrestleMania 31 next March.

The Rock responded, “I don’t think so.” He jokingly added, “I might get hit in the mouth, I don’t want that.”

The Rock will make an appearance Friday’s SmackDown 15th Anniversary special. In a backstage segment that was taped at Monday’s RAW from Brooklyn, The Rock and Triple H discuss who would win a potential match between the two of them at WrestleMania 31.

* Details On RANDY ORTON Now Working A Part-Time Schedule For WWE

Former ECW, WCW and TNA manager James Mitchell posted the following story on his official Facebook recently, revealing a conversation he had with Vince Russo:

NOW IT CAN BE TOLD

During a recent conversation with former WWE and TNA head writer, Vince Russo on Vince Russo’s Pyro & Ballyhoo, I asked him to explain to me how the decision was made in TNA creative to fire me, when I was clearly a good soldier, a top tier on-screen presence who got real heat and unquestionably one of the very few money-promo guys. He offered the following-

“Two overlaying things with TNA. One is much bigger than the other. And Jim, one of ‘em is like almost unbelievable to say, okay? Dixie Carter, I hate to say this, and I hate to use this word, but after owning the company for so many years, Jim, was still such a mark that if Jim Mitchell would be the Devil on television and was getting heat because that was his job, and that’s what he was paid to do, because people were booing and hissing you, Dixie did not like Jim Mitchell. Not that she, and you shouldn’t laugh, this is a shoot, so literally bro, if you’re getting heat and people are booing you and she doesn’t like you because of your “character”, a lot of times that transforms into her not liking you.”

Priceless.

That explains a lot about her subsequent creative input. Perhaps if I posted Tweets insensitive to Japanese typhoon victims, as she recently did, I would have been more in line with her vision of how a heel gets heat.”

According to MetsFan4Ever, the Reddit user who has correctly predicted and revealed pro wrestling stories in the past, WWE is looking at doing away with their “Elimination Chamber” annual pay-per-view concept.

The word going around backstage at the WWE television tapings this past Tuesday night is that there will be no more Elimination Chamber pay-per-views going forward.

WWE will reportedly replace the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on their schedule with a regular, generic-style of PPV, with the rumored leading names being “WWE Fast Lane” or “WWE Fast Track.”

The following are highlights of a new Shining Wizards podcast interview with Stevie Ray:

On reuniting Harlem Heat at Pro Wrestling Syndicate this Friday: “I’m not very excited… I had it good for the last few years, kicking back and knocking down a few. But when I’m committed to something, I’m committed to it. But in all actuality, it’s good man. It’s a good feeling and I’ve been getting the juices again for the last couple years, and in all actuality, I am excited, to be honest. It’s been a long time coming.”

On racism in Global, WCW, and wrestling today: “If you really want to think about it, we ran into racism… That (first) night in Global, they called us every n-word known to man, as we walked out. And I’m like ‘Wow, this is the big time? Holy shit!’ But, you know, the thing is, being African American, things like that… You know how to deal with it coming from certain upbringings… You know how to shut people up. You can’t shut them up by arguing with somebody or wanting to fight somebody. We just show them how good you are. If you want to turn the page to WCW, yeah, WCW was probably one of the most racist, bigoted companies in the history of mankind, to be honest. That’s what it was made of. They were just a bunch of bigots that want to let a few people in and wanted to keep what they got.

“WCW was no different than America. America is a racist, bigoted country. People can try to hide behind this, that, or the other, but it is what it is. No disrespecting anybody but, you know, just call it the way it is, and WCW was no different. Especially in the professional wrestling world, they want to keep everything as white as possible. If you look at wrestling today, they want to keep everything as white as possible. As a matter of fact, back in the old independent territories, wrestling had more African Americans then they do nowadays. And they had lots of big stars, going all the way back to Sailor Art Thomas, and even before him… the Rocky Johnsons, the Tiger Conways. When we were growing up there was an array of African American wrestlers. Now you only see the African Americans, you know, they put a gimmick on them that’s so cliché and so, you know, they got us in a fish bowl, not a sea or a pond.

“We have to act this way, walk this way and do this kind of stuff, especially in some of the territories nowadays. It is what it is, and you just got to be able to deal with it. Luckily me and my brother were educated enough to know what we were going to do and that’s what we were going to do. We weren’t going to compromise for anybody. That’s what we told people in WCW and people in Global (Wrestling Federation). We’re this, and we told them if they want that shucking and jiving guy, if you want that, that’s not us… I’m looking at WWE… They brought in a couple of tag teams. They brought in Cryme Time. Listen to that… Cryme Tyme. That says it all. I’m looking at the gimmick where they’re stealing from people when they’re not looking. Is that how America looks at black people today? Really? That were nothing but thieves? Is that all we are? The guy that doesn’t want to take care of his child, like they put on the Maury Povich show? Dysfunctional families… Is that what we are? That’s everybody, that’s America. When it’s put out there on television, though, it’s just us, and I got a problem with that.

On Booker T and Hulk Hogan’s reaction to the infamous Spring Stampede promo: “Well, It really bothered my brother. It really bothered him, whereas all the guys were ribbing him and were like, ‘What’s up n**ga?’ Randy Savage and whoever… They all got a big, big kick out of it. It was the pop of the night. So the next day, we go to do Nitro after the pay-per-view that Sunday and I remember I was sitting at a table, you know – we were in catering – I’m sitting at the table and Hogan walks in. So me and Hogan would always talk about cars and motorcycles, because he’s into cars much like myself. I think he was getting some food when Randy Savage came in and was like, ‘Hey, Hulk, what’s going on man? You know Booker T called you an n**ga?’ Then Hogan was like ‘That’s OK man, at least I’m a good n**ga.’ The whole catering area popped. I mean everybody in the catering room just popped. And I think that’s when some of the pressure kind of came off my brother. That’s a true story, I’ve never told it before… After Hogan did that, it pretty much died that day.”

On working with Sherri Martel: “I mean, that was our best times in WCW, when all three of us worked together. They had tried out a few people with us. Frankly, to be honest, me and my brother didn’t want a f—ing manager. What the f— do we need a manager for? Another white dude that needs to talk for two black guys? Who needs that shit? We knew what they were trying to do… Every time they put somebody out there, we were like ‘we don’t want to f—ing work with that guy.’ They knew we were disgruntled about it. Then they would take us to the studios to do promos with some guy with a f—ing suit on trying to be a rip off of Jimmy Cornette. I can’t even remember who they were, I just I remember that we told each other we ain’t going for this shit. Then one day we were at a TV taping… and Sherri was there, and she had been working with Savage I think, I can’t remember. I guess they were killing that thing off, and one day we were there at the TV taping and we were talking to her, because we always admired her, and she’s like, ‘Hey how would you guys like for me to be your manager?’

“Me and my brother looked at each other and go, ‘That sounds good.’ A white chick, with two black guys? Now that works. Now you’ve got heat on both sides of the aisle. You’ve got black people saying, ‘Why they gotta have a white chick to come out with?’ And you got heat from white people for just being a black guy, period. Now it works. Now you’ve got something. That’s why we called her ‘Sista,’ because sisters are referred to as African American women. So we called her sista, and that’s why we spelled it sista, not sister. So when that worked and we all started talking on the phone, you know, we’d do matches and then pick up our cell phones and say ‘yeah, we just did it, and blah, blah, blah,’ and people would ask ‘Who they talking to?’ And everybody just knew that it would be some cliché white manager in a suit or some bullshit that they did fifty thousand times in wrestling. The night Sherri came out, oh, it blew the roof off the place. We rode all over this country together and overseas. That was Harlem Heat. That was the real Harlem Heat. Booker T., Stevie Ray, and Sista Sherri.”

The following are highlights of the latest Jim Ross blog:

On the upcoming New Japan/Global Force pay-per-view: “I read where the New Japan Pro Wrestling PPV promoted by Jeff Jarrett’s new Global Force Wrestling company will be a FOUR HOUR EVENT and available on all major, PPV platforms from the Tokyo Dome. The event is set to run live in Tokyo from 4-8 pm on Saturday January 4 but don’t ask me what time that is in the USA. I will be buying the PPV and DVR’ing it for viewing at a more opportune time and without reading the “Jardine’s.” I’m not even sure that reading the “Jardines’s” aka the Spoilers would affect me wanting to watch the show.”

On Daniel Bryan: “If Daniel Bryan is being used to promote WM31 locally in Santa Clara why wasn’t his interaction with the world champion San Francisco Giants used on WWE or was it and I missed it? Great footage of exciting folks doing the ‘YES’ chant.”

On Lucha Underground: “Happy to see Ivelisse on Lucha Underground as she was one of my favorites in FCW in Ta,pa back in the day while training for a WWE career. Tough, physical woman of which there are too few of in today’s mat game. I wish her the best. I’m not sure what happened to hasten her departure from WWE but it likely had something to do with poor communication. She’s got talent that’s for sure.

Even though I am pulling for Luca Underground to be a rousing success, I am still not a fan of intergender wrestling. Mixed tag bouts are a different ball game but the intergender stuff is too much of a stretch of one’s imagination unless every female is a true, badass like my favorite MMA star @RondaRousey.”

On SmackDown changing nights: “WWE moving to Thursdays on SyFy in January isn’t a surprise and I’d go so far as to predict that move will also see a new announce team introduced as well. Michael Cole and JBL, while both doing a fine job, are overexposed and that fact really stands out when the PPV events sound just like Monday Night RAW. Taking Cole and JBL off Smackdown will make them more special and make the PPV’s sound fresher in my opinion.”

The Most REVEALING Photos Of RONDA ROUSEY That You Have EVER Seen!

After posting that his November 23rd comedy special would be taped for a future cable television special, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recently noted that it will instead be a WWE Network special presentation.

While speaking with Larry Gallagher of ThisIsInfamous.com, Foley shed some light on the plans for his 11/23 comedy show:

“Well you know what? There was a last minute brokering and it appears like the show will be done instead for the WWE Network. Yeah it is awesome. I guess I kind of jumped the gun with the post. It really was like an 11th hour agreement where we both realized we were better off doing this thing together.”

As of right now, there is no word as to when the special will air on the WWE Network.

The first-ever “Firefly Inferno match” will take place at Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view.

Following the angle where Randy Orton lit Bray Wyatt on fire on Monday’s episode of Raw, WWE has announced that Orton vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at TLC will now be a Firefly Inferno match.

There was a segment on this week’s Raw where Wyatt brought his Firefly Fun House characters on a field trip to the WWE ThunderDome. Orton appeared on the video screen and challenged Wyatt to a game of hide-and-seek. It ended with Orton attacking Wyatt and putting him inside of a box. Orton lit the box on fire, but The Fiend emerged from it and put Orton in the Mandible Claw.

WWE.com wrote about the Firefly Inferno stipulation:

Randy Orton and The Fiend are set to turn up the heat at WWE TLC in the first-ever Firefly Inferno Match.

Orton and Wyatt are no stranger to the destructive flames, as The Viper once sadistically burned down The Wyatt Family Compound. Last week, The Viper trapped Wyatt inside a burning box, but The Fiend emerged unscathed to punish Orton for his brutality. Now Orton will have to step inside The Fiend’s twisted inferno, and HE never forgets.

After The Fiend’s mind games cost Randy Orton an opportunity to once again compete for the WWE Championship, The Viper fired right back by taking hold of Alexa Bliss in attempt to coax The Fiend during a tense installment of “A Moment of Bliss.”

The Fiend has changed every man to step into the ring with him, but Orton has proven time and again to be a different breed of Superstar. Can The Legend Killer walk through the fire or will The Fiend burn Orton for his past transgressions?

Don’t miss WWE TLC on Sunday, Dec. 20, streaming at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.

Here’s the updated card for TLC:

Universal Champion Roman Reigns defends his title against Kevin Owens in a tables, ladders, and chairs match
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defends his title against AJ Styles in a tables, ladders, and chairs match
Randy Orton vs. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Inferno match
SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks defends her title against Carmella
Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax defend their titles against Asuka and a partner of her choosing
Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) defend their titles against The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander)

As seen in recent ads for WrestleMania 31, the WWE Superstars that are most prominently featured in the majority of those ads are Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Mark Henry, Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose. Apparently the reason Henry is included among those guys is because the WWE advertising department were told to include an African-American in the main ads for the show.

Other ads for the show, such as those at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the show will take place next year, have Randy Orton and Bad News Barrett instead of Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan, and include Big E. as one of the big six.

The following are highlights of a new Huffington Post interview with NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte:

Fear of not living up to Ric Flair’s legacy: “The biggest thing holding me back is fear. Being afraid to fail and not live up to such a legacy my dad has made. I do feel the pressure, but I also feel the drive. My dad was really hard on me as a kid in sports, so this is no different.”

Her desire to change the WWE Divas division: “I want it so bad. Obviously NXT’s brand, we have a little more time to work. There’s a little more Divas focus — more story lines, more backstage segments. As NXT is the future, I hope as we all come up together, the Divas division will have more depth and be stronger. Not to say it’s not strong now. But I hope with what NXT has to offer, the division will just be incredible.”
