On making history at NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool:

Zack Gibson:

“It’s hard to put into words. Our whole journey was about getting to WWE and to be the best we can be when we get there. So, to get to TakeOver: Blackpool – which two minutes down the road from James’ house – and put our names in the history books as the first-ever tag team champions… I remember coming backstage and you’ve got Triple H and Shawn Michaels waiting for you, telling you it was incredible, you’ve stolen the show – it was incredible. And they sent title belts home to our families, just incredible. Still, up to this point, one of the best moments of my life. Hopefully, tomorrow is going to top it – we’ve got a lot of crazy stuff lined up so it’s definitely one not to miss.”

On the roster being hungry to perform at NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff:

James Drake:

“Yeah, definitely. With the generation of what we are now, we all take a lot of pride in our work. So basically, over the last 10 years we’ve seen a boom in British wrestling and that’s mainly because of the generation you see in NXT UK now. We’ve all evolved and put a lot of effort and time into, hopefully, one day having this opportunity. It’s hard to put into words, but all I can say is everyone is going out there to put on the best show, everyone is going out there to steal the show, make a bigger name for themselves, make NXT UK bigger than it already it has become. Cardiff is just another cornerstone.”

Where Takeover should go next:

Zack Gibson:

“Anfield! Capital of culture, the best city in the world and I’m not just saying that because I’m from there. I’ve seen plenty of the world and I’ve compared it and nothing compares to Liverpool. TakeOver Liverpool would be the dream but there is a ton of other cities… they all want TakeOver. All of the talents would love TakeOver in their town. I say Liverpool and I would be right, but it’s not down to me. It’s down to Johnny Saint.

“Jordan Devlin wants to see TakeOver go over to Ireland, Dave Mastiff wants to see it go to the Black Country, but one thing that is going to put them all off is tuning in on Saturday and watching two Welsh lads in Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews, two lads who got their wish in Cardiff and they got embarrassed in front of all of their family and friends. Hopefully, the rest of the roster will realise having a TakeOver in their own back garden is a bad idea while James Drake and I are on the roster.”

THE DEADMAN RETURNS

We kick off tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live in a big way as The Undertaker makes his return to WWE and Madison Square Garden to a huge ovation! The Deadman says he wanted to come out and take a minute and absorb all of this.

The Undertaker says for the past 30 years he has considered these hallowed grounds his home, and he doesn’t know how many times he will get to come home anymore. But if there is one thing he wants people to remember about this place, it is the titans that were born here, the legends that made their name in Madison Square Garden.

The Undertaker says now we usher in a new era of Superstar…Sami Zayn? Sami makes his way out and interrupts the Deadman and says the one thing he knows is that New York City respects legends, and The Undertaker is a legend.

Zayn says that ‘Taker has been selling out this arena for 30 years with MSG being his yard, stating he has respect for The Undertaker. Zayn says that even ‘Taker can probably admit he shouldn’t be opening the show, as it should probably have been himself.

Sami questions when enough is enough as 30 years is a long time and the future is here and it is now and the future is Sami Zayn. Eventually, he gets to his point and asks The Undertaker to turn around and leave this ring, doing the right thing and to pass the torch to him.

Undertaker looks as if he is going to leave, but then gets back into the ring and hits a huge Chokeslam to Sami Zayn, before exiting.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT

Chad Gable is then shown in Shane McMahon’s office who puts over his recent performances and is informed that Elias has broken his ankle. Shane points out that someone like Gable doesn’t want a bye to the final, and he will announce his opponent later on tonight.

THE MIZ vs ANDRADE

The Miz starts out the match in control with several hip tosses, with Shinsuke Nakamura on commentary, refusing to talk in Egnlish. Back in the ring, The Miz dumps Andrade outside the ring, but as he looks to go out, Zelina Vega bounces up on the ropes to distract him.

Andrade then nearly takes out Miz by accident but the distraction causes problems for Miz and Andrade takes advantage, hitting his classic running double knees into the corner. As we return from commercial it is actually Miz who has gained control with two knees and then a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo almost putting away Andrade.

The Miz then starts throwing his famous It Kicks as he then catches Andrade with a big boot as he starts unloading on his opponent in the corner, hitting his classic running knees into the corner. As Miz looks for the third knee, Andrade follows him to the corner, but the WWE veteran smartly dumps Andrade to the outside.

As Miz takes the fight to his opponent out of the ring he ends up having a staredown with Shinsuke Nakamura, which leads to Miz launching Andrade into the Intercontinental Champion. But as Miz tries to get back into the ring, Vega grabs his boot which allows her client to rock the #1 contender with a huge back elbow.

Andrade then looks for his classic moonsault, which he then tries to hit a second time but Miz catches his legs and turns it into a Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

Winner: The Miz

Miz’s celebrations are short-lived though as Nakamura hits the ring and ambushes his Clash Of Champions opponent, hitting the Kinshasa.

CHAD GABLE’S OPPONENT WILL BE…

Shane McMahon is backstage making small jokes about Chad Gable, who eventually arrives asking who his opponent will be, and Shane confirms that it will be himself… the Best in the World!

All Elite Wrestling has announced another BIG match for next Wednesday’s highly anticipated debut on TNT. The series, officially entitled AEW Dynamite, will premiere with a singles bout originally intended for this summer’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, as Hangman Page finally battles PAC.

Seeds were planted for this match all the way back in January, when Hangman spoke to members of the media in Jacksonville, claiming that he would become the first ever AEW World Champion. PAC then shocked the world by approaching the stage completely unannounced, coming face-to-face with the Virginian cowboy.

While that match didn’t play out in Las Vegas as originally planned due to… issues… Hangman did work his way into the main event world title match at AEW All Out, losing to living legend Chris Jericho, while PAC scored off something of an upset over the “Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega.

It was assumed that the inevitable collision would take place at All Elite Wrestling’s next pay-per-view event in Baltimore this November, Full Gear, but it would appear that Christmas has come early in order to super-stack what should be a massive series premiere on TNT.

Also set for next Wednesday’s show is Nyla Rose vs. Riho to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion, and a singles match between Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin. There will also be a six-man tag team match in the main event as Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks team up to face Chris Jericho and two mystery partners.

Next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw is being promoted as the “season premiere” of WWE’s long-running flagship show, and with it appears to be a total overhaul of their branding, and even a new logo.

During tonight’s broadcast WWE ran advertisements for next week’s show, featuring a new set of more grungy textures and darker colors. The branding won’t be the only major change we see over the next few weeks, as the Raw and Smackdown brands are expected to debut new, distinct sets to coincide with the blue brand moving to FOX, as well as the upcoming WWE Draft.

A SmackDown Women’s Championship rematch is set for next week.

On Saturday’s episode of Talking Smack, it was announced that Bianca Belair will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella next Friday. Belair retained her title by defeating Carmella on last night’s SmackDown.

Carmella posted a video after last night’s match where she complained about only having six days to prepare for it. Carmella also complained about Belair using her hair in the match.

An interview with Belair responding to Carmella aired on Talking Smack. Belair agreed to give Carmella a rematch next week and told Carmella to be careful what she asks for.

Belair was originally scheduled to defend her title against Bayley in an “I Quit” match at Money in the Bank, but that match had to be pulled from the show when Bayley suffered a torn ACL during training. It was announced last week that Belair would instead be defending her title against Carmella on last night’s SmackDown. Belair is no longer wrestling at Money in the Bank.

Next Friday’s SmackDown is taking place from two different locations. There will be multiple matches taking place at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami, Florida, with the remainder of the show being held at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. Here’s the updated lineup for the episode.

Vendredi 29 mars 2019, le Barclay Center accueillait la cérémonie Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, à New York.
