WWE’s new Performance Center YouTube channel has uploaded the next installment of Matt Riddle’s WWE Arrival today, featuring his NXT Takeover debut.

The new YouTube channel is dedicated to the talent and coaches of the WWE Performance Center and the first two documentary-style videos have been based on the King Of Bros, Matt Riddle.

In the newest video, which you can see at the bottom of the article, it highlights Riddle as he and his family prepare for life in Orlando, discussing how this has always been a dream for him.

Riddle takes the camera crew to where he began learning to wrestle at the Monster Factory training adacemy where he talks about his journey to this point.

The video also takes you backstage at NXT Takeover Brooklyn where he made his first appearance as an NXT Superstar in the crowd, with Riddle commentating on the moment.

Former WWE Superstar, Tyson Kidd recently spoke with SLAM! Wrestling where he discussed his career-ending injury and returning to WWE for his new role.

On his career-ending injury:

“The night of injury, it was just one of those days where the show was being changed — up to the last minute — but the show was being changed and the next thing I know it’s me against Joe in a dark match,” Kidd said. “I’d never worked Joe before. I’d of course seen him. I’m a student of the game, I’ve seen everybody. But I’d never physically worked him. When we landed on the Muscle Buster, I saw the whitest light I’ve ever seen. I thought it was a concussion for a second. I remember thinking, ‘Man, I did this whole match, completely on the fly, I pulled it off and then I get rocked at the end.’”

On Vince McMahon bringing him back:

“That was his idea. He thought I’d be good at it or I could get good at it,” Kidd said. “(McMahon) said to me, ‘You’ll be like me.’

“I didn’t know if I’d be good at it and I didn’t know what all it entailed. I didn’t know if I would get any real fulfillment out of it. But right off the bat, maybe two weeks in, I was a part of a battle royal and I had an idea that Tye Dillinger would be one of the last three guys. I thought his ’10’ stuff was getting over and I thought it would be good and he could have a good showing. I love my job. I’ve been doing this now almost a year and a half and I haven’t taken a week off yet.”

In an interesting turn of events, both Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks and Dash Wilder of The Revival tweeted out identical messages Monday night, claiming that their two tag teams would one day wrestle each other, and that “everyone will rejoice” when that time finally comes.

This opens up a whole can of worms, politically, for some very obvious reasons. There is no way WWE officials will be happy with two of their current RAW Superstars publicly discussing the idea of wrestling two of their competition’s most popular and biggest drawing stars.

It also doesn’t help that The Revival made their statements in the middle of WWE RAW being on the air. With the Bucks rumored to be on the brink of announcing their very own promotion, All Elite Wrestling, in conjunction with Cody Rhodes and billionaire NFL team owner Shahid Khan, the idea of WWE stars potentially jumping ship to this new venture has already been circulating, and it’s something the company can’t be thrilled with.

A personal aside from the writer…

2018 was a crazy year for independent wrestling. We were lucky enough to witness (and personally attend) ALL IN in the Chicagoland area, and more and more wrestlers continued to be signed to exclusive contracts as the indie boom continued.

AAW was not immune from that boom, seeing top talents last year leave like Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno), and talents this year like Keith Lee and Matt Riddle to name a few. Either way, AAW had become to be known as something of a breeding ground for developing top talent, and feuds like Pentagon Jr. vs. Sami Callihan which was first seen in an AAW ring was brought to life on television on IMPACT wrestling. New talents were brought in like Mance Warner and Darby Allin, and they took their opportunity and made their mark on AAW and won over their crowd.

Careers surged like never before like Eddie Kingston who was arguably on a downward trend, who joined up with the likes of David Starr, Trevor Lee, and Jeff Cobb to form WRSTLING and become the most feared faction in AAW in 2018.  Other stars emerged at the end of 2017 like Jake Something and Curt Stallion, and showed that they deserved their spots in 2018.

We also saw the rise of ACH, who became champion after beating Fenix, and spent most of 2018 as the champion before losing it to Brody King. ACH was much more than just a champion, but had incredible matches with top talent, legitimizing talent like PACO, and having a match with Trevor Lee that everyone was talking about which went to a 60 minute draw.

The women’s division came to a new high, crowning a new AAW Women’s Champion in Jessicka Havok in the end of last year, and seeing the journey of arguably the hottest talent in AAW, Kylie Rae make her way back from injury to capture the title at the latter parts of the year.

The Windy City Classic was the culmination of all of that. There were moments where AAW slipped a little, losing its footing due not knowing which talent would be available from month to month, but they never slipped in delivering quality matches, shows, and showing us new talent. What’s more, AAW delivered arguably the best show of the year in the Windy City Classic, showing not just fast paced, high quality action that normally comes with the indies, but story lines that were exciting, gut wrenching, and most of all, captivating.

In short, 2018 was great, but 2019 looks like it is going to be a marquee year for AAW, and I hope that I see some of you at the shows in the coming months. Read on for complete results of the WINDY CITY CLASSIC.

Last night saw a major change to the WWE Royal Rumble card as Braun Strowman was replaced in the Universal Championship match by Finn Balor.

The Demon will go one on one with The Beast, Brock Lesnar at the Rumble for the Universal Championship that he, technically, never lost in what is a dream match for many fans.

After winning the fatal four-way during WWE Raw’s main event against Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and John Cena, Balor spoke to WWE’s YouTube channel where he discussed the importance of him believing in himself that he can defeat Lesnar.
